Brief Summary

Their relationship is terse, but as time progresses, Challe and Anne develop a strong bond. During their journey, Anne experiences many setbacks and obstacles in her quest to become a Silver Sugar artisan, a title coveted by all sugar artisans.

My Thoughts

I continue to be on the fence regarding this anime. On the one hand, the anime is very cute and endearing. Anne is a plucky protagonist that strives to be her best and all costs, and that makes Anne endearing. She is a hard worker and has a determination that makes you want to cheer for her. By the end, Challe is also a very likable character. There is a lot of character development as the anime continues. Challe begins as a bitter person who slowly warms his heart with Anne. However, the story is slow. I found myself really reaching to keep up with the anime. I think someone looking for a fast-paced anime will have trouble digesting Sugar Apple Fairy Tale. However, this anime is for you if you want a slow-building love story with a heartwrenching ending!
