Brief Summary

Ichikawa is a loner that takes pride in his edgy character. He often walks around with murder encyclopedias and fantasizes about killing the popular kids in his class. Specifically, the class idol, Yamada. Through their interactions in the school library, Ichikawa and Yamada become closer. Ichikawa sees Yamada for who she is and not just as an idol. She’s a quirky air-head that makes her adorable. Soon, Ichikawa cannot resist her and tries to come to terms with his feelings toward Yamada.

My Thoughts

This anime is hilarious. I highly recommend it. While it follows the formula of an outcast/popular kid pairing, it is still enjoyable. Yamada is an excellent character. Her addiction to food as an idol is most welcomed. I think it is important to show idols taking care of themselves. She may not necessarily be making the best food choices, but she isn’t starving herself either. Their budding romance is cute. They are stark opposites, yet, Yamada becomes smitten. Her advances become bold, and Ichikawa slowly opens up and starts to enjoy school. I enjoyed this show every week. If you’re into romcoms, I highly suggest this one.
