Main Characters

Kinoshita Akane – Our female protagonist. Akane is a first-year college student recovering from a breakup. She plays an online game called Forest of Savior.

Yamada Akito – Our male protagonist. Yamada-kun is a third-year high school student and professional gamer blessed with good looks. Unfortunately, Yamada-kun has issues expressing his emotions. Yamada-kun is a fellow guild mate with Akane.

Brief Summary

Akane starts to play an online game called Forest of Savior with her boyfriend. Incidentally, her boyfriend cheats on her with another gamer. At a Forest of Savior event, she meets guildmate, Yamada. He saves her from embarrassment when she runs into her ex and his new girlfriend. Akane and Yamada start an unlikely friendship that begins pretty cold due to Yamada’s lack of emotion. However, the friendly Akane starts to warm his heart. Along the way, Akane befriends her guildmates in real life. Their interactions are lighthearted and sweet.

My Thoughts

If you are an online gamer, you probably have experienced, or know someone who has experienced, Akane’s relationship woes. How many of our online friends have real-life relationships that end due to online relationships? Akane represents that one online newbie with no idea what is happening. For example, Akane is guilty of keeping trash items that have no value in the guild bank. I have personally been guilty of this during my MMORPG days. Sometimes, you have gear you think someone can use, and it’s just trash. Yamada encompasses the hardcore gamer that has one focal point. He is disinterested in everything around him. However, Yamada is actually a really nice guy. Through their interactions, Akane’s past relationship pains start to dull and she slowly realizes that she has feelings for Yamada. But, what about Yamada? I recommend this anime to those that want to reminisce about their gaming days and the budding romances that happen because of it.
