EPISODE SUMMARY

Our protagonist, Momose, is headed out to his new job. His former job had an abusive boss that caused Momose to develop an ulcer and mental health issues. He is anxious about his new work environment and whether he will work under another abusive boss. Upon meeting his new boss, Shirosaki, he overhears other employees whispering. He immediately gets a stomach cramp.

Shirosaki then takes Momose out to introduce him to the clients. During their walk, Momose begins to worry about the potential of his new boss being abusive. He develops another stomach cramp and doubles over in pain. Shirosaki disappears and Momose deduces that the boss left him behind. Suddenly, Shirosaki appears with medicine and shows concern. However, when Momose opens the bag, he finds this:

All Momose could do was giggle at how cute Shirosaki was. To change the subject, Momose noted that they had not exchanged contact information. Shirosaki forgets how to share contact information so Momose asks him what he screen looks like to which Shirosaki replies, “It’s slightly cracked.” Once again, Momose cannot hold back his laughter.

Back at the office, Momose runs into an issue. He is afraid to ask his boss for help. In his previous job, the boss would throw things at him. Shirosaki senses that Momose is struggling and asks him if he needs help. Shirosaki immediately grabs Momose’s mouse hand. It isn’t until one of the other employees jokingly states Shirosaki is harassing Momose that Shirosaki withdraws his hand in embarrassment.

Quickly, Momose determines that Shirosaki is a goofy man. The hijinks don’t stop there. There are many other cute blunders that happen. In order to help Momose out, Shirosaki asks Momose to complete a proposal for an aquarium job. It is apparent that Momose comes from a brutal past and Shirosaki is doing all he can to positively mentor Momose. Shirosaki takes Momose to one of his simple proposals to show that it doesn’t have to be showy to be successful.

Because of Shirosaki’s guidance, Momose is able to put together a successful ad proposal.

THOUGHTS

I absolutely love how wholesome this show is. It’s a nice reprieve from the massive amounts of isekai I’ve been watching lately. Some people commented that this was a BL show, and I don’t get that vibe. The male characters do quite a bit of blushing, but I don’t think that is because of attraction. The situations are embarrassing and anyone would blush or laugh at Shirosaki’s goofiness. This show is very lighthearted but also addresses mental health and recovering from toxic workplaces. I looked forward to continuing this show and getting some good vibes from the goofiness of Shirosaki!
