Ep. 4: A TRASH GAME REALIGNMENT OF ELEVATED TASTES
Rei-chan is still on her hunt for Sunraku, in-game, and in real life. She pops into the game store to see if he’s there. The shopkeeper teases her and tells her that he hasn’t stopped by. She asks about Rei-chan’s hunt for Sunraku, but Rei-chan divulges that he hasn’t exactly gone the normal route by skipping the tutorial city entirely.

Meanwhile, Hizutome (Sunraku) is reading about unique scenarios, in particular, how to trigger the special bunny that invites you to Rabituza. However, upon reading, Hizutome realizes that the scenario he is reading about is nothing like his unique encounter.
Back in-game, Sunraku has a conversation with Vysache, the yakuza-style boss of Rabituza. Vysache praises Sunraku for his powerful vorpal soul. Vysache offers to train Sunraku up to snuff. Sunraku realizes it is a training quest and he has no reason to refuse. Vysache puts Sunraku in Emul’s care. As Vysache is walking off, he remembers the collar in his hand. He throws it toward Sunraku. It is a vorpal soul collar that halves the experience received.

Sunraku has an appointment with another player in a different game called BERP. When he logs in, Katzo is waiting for him to fight. During the epic battle, Sunraku has the upper hand. That is until he cuts a hand off and the hand knocks him out. He loses the battle. Katzo and Sunraku sit down to have a chat. He tells Katzo about the battle with Lycagon and how he won’t put the game down until he beats Lycagon.

Back in SLF, Emul and Sunraku travel back to Secondale. Sunraku wants to beat the crowds and make it to Thirdrema before others arrive. Emul vows to help Sunraku make it to Thirdrema and sends him a party invite. Unfortunately, Sunraku does not think about the ramifications of walking around town with a vorpal bunny. He is immediately accosted by two other players asking how they could tame a vorpal bunny. To make matters worse, Emul talked. As Sunraku realizes his mistake, he runs off, but not before one of the player characters takes a screenshot.

As part of the Lycagon Mark, creatures of a lower level flees. This poses as problem. Sunraku figures out a way to stop creatures and kill them. Upon learning this solution, he decides to forget about the lower-level scrubs and go straight to the area boss. The area boss is located in a swamp that forces the player to walk and hinders movement. The area boss arrives.

THOUGHTS
Oh, Rei-chan. She’s so innocent! Doesn’t she know she could possibly be setting herself up in the friend zone?
This unique scenario with Rabituza is interesting. I am assuming that he was able to trigger it due to his fight with Lycagon and by obtaining Lycagon’s mark. This is why no one else has triggered it. I am interested to see where the training leads him.
I am also interested to see what tactics Sunraku is going to use to fight the Mud Digger. It is the worst possible matchup for Sunraku. Overall, I don’t feel like I’ve learned anything new, but it was a good episode to set up the Mud Digger battle.
