EPISODE 2: THE GOLDEN IMPERIAL CAPITAL

Prince Arnold gets down on one knee and proposes to Rishe. She respectfully declines making Prince Arnold laugh. Rishe is beside herself. Why would he ask her hand in marriage? Suddenly, the king arrives and pushes his son’s face into the ground and he also bows apologizing for his son’s behavior. Prince Arnold asks for more time with Rishe in which the king asks her to cooperate. Once alone, Rishe asks what he is plotting.

Rishe will agree to marry Prince Arnold if he grants some of her requests. Her first request is that the items for their wedding will be procured by a specific trading company. Her second request is a separate area where she can host guest from out of the country. Third, she demands that she be able to do not work at all. She also request that he does not lay a finger on her.

They make their way back to Prince Arnold’s home country. Rishe somehow ends up with Prince Arnold’s sword and uses it as a pillow to sleep. When he tries to reach for it, she draws the sword reminding him he promised not to touch her. He then points out that she took his sword. Prince Arnold is surprised at her ability to sense things. Just when she realizes how handsome he is, they get attacked. He locks her in the carriage and tells her to behave. However, she has other plans. She lockpicks her way out of the carriage to find that Prince Arnold quickly dispatched the attackers leaving them wounded, but alive. Many of his soldiers were wounded. Using her knowledge of herbs in her past life, she mixes a concoction to counteract the effects of the poison used on them. None of the guards seem keen to take her antidote. She slices her own arm with the poison and leaves it up to them to decide whether they want to be healed or not.

Prince Arnold bows before Rishe and thanks her for saving his men. Rishe is beyond confused. The murderous man that killed her isn’t quite the same person that is before her. Her curiosity is piqued. Then, she finds out/realizes that she is really a hostage. This excites her and she thanks the Prince. She is excited that she will finally live a lazy life.
When they arrive to the imperial capital, Rishe is visibly excited. However, when they arrive, the imperial villa is not ready for her use. She tells the Prince she is not worried about the state of the villa. Using her experience as a maid in her past life, she begins to clean the villa. Going out into the courtyard, she witnesses the experienced maids bullying a new maid.

Later in the day, Prince Arnold tries to sneak up on Rishe, but due to her training, sensed him. Once again, she surprised him with her knowledge and skills. As they look over the city, she is filled with wonder and the Prince, not so much. As she dazzles him with her wit, he touches her face and reiterates he has fallen in love with her.

THOUGHTS
As expected, Rishe continues to bewitch the Prince with the knowledge that she has gained over her multiple lifetimes. However, it is unclear whether the Prince is playing games or truly bewitched. As Rishe comments, he is hard to read. It must be even harder for Rishe considering he is the one that murdered her in her prior life. At the end of the episode, she collapses onto the railing after he leaves. He was completely swoon worthy! I am enjoying this cat and mouse game they have set up. Will continue to monitor.
