EPISODE 3: A THINLY VEILED SWORD DANCE (RONDO)
Rishe is finally settling in the villa. One morning, as she slept in, Oliver, the Prince’s aide, comes for a visit. He brings a list of guests for the wedding ceremony and the party for the following night. Rishe decides to pay the Prince a visit before the party. She asks for permission to be able to choose her own maids.
At the party. the Prince announces Rishe as his future wife. There is shock around the room. Feeling the jealousy and other ill-feelings toward her, Rishe takes it in stride and introduces herself. She tells the Prince that he shouldn’t provoke the other ladies, and he feels it is needed. While talking, he mentions that they should spar one day to which she excitedly tells him how much she would like to receive training from him.

As he smiles at her reaction, the music starts. He tells her that she doesn’t need to, but she instantly replies she is there anyhow and plans to have fun. He immediately grabs her hand and they begin to dance. Rishe decides she wants to play a trick on him and take the lead. However, he takes the lead back. They go back and forth.

The crowd immediately senses their connection and are cheering for them. While the Prince makes his rounds, the other ladies approach Rishe with a glass of wine. Immediately, Rishe knows they did something to the wine. Smelling the wine, she deduces they added crushed red pepper. Rishe drinks the wine despite knowing they messed with it making the ladies even angrier. Rishe continues to drink the wine despite it being spicy. The Prince finds her drinking it on the balcony and asks her why she continues to drink it. The Prince then grabs the wine and finishes it for her.

The Prince makes the observation that Rishe was thinking about someone else as they danced. She points out that she noticed he moved slower on one side of his body. He shows her a scar.
Once again, the most experienced maids are harassing the newer maids. They tell the newer maids that they will never be chosen as the crown princess’s maids. Rishe decides to help the newer maids.
Later in the day, the maids are gathered. The bullying maids look up and see Rishe. Rishe fires the lead bullying maid, Diana. Instead, she uses Diana’s experience and ability to read and write to teach the other maids properly.
Finally, Rishe puts her best face forward to meet with the Aria Trading Company.
THOUGHTS
The cat and mouse game continues and it is glorious! I am totally in love with Prince Arnold. I love the way Rishe carries herself. She is quite aware of her surrounding which makes her a formidable foe. Can we talk about the other noble ladies? Adding crushed red pepper to wine? Really? How juvenile can you get. I would have tripped and spilled it on her dress. What could they possibly do? I love that Rishe is strong female lead. Her prowess comes from her former lives rather than some magic power that is bestowed upon her. I kind of dig that. Will continue to monitor.
