Everyday Life: It’s Been Chaotic

Hi, friends!

Today, I was supposed to do my episodic post, but life has been hectic.

Last week was a rough week. I’ve been having kidney issues and diabetic issues and that caused me to miss two days of work. Some of this has to do with the new Hollywood trend of prescribing Ozempic and Ozempic-class medications to people who want to lose weight. Theses are diabetic medications, not weight loss medications. I ended up having to go almost a month without my prescribed-for-its-intended-use medication because of the backorder. I am pretty sure that is what f’ed up my kidneys. Thankfully, it looks like the supply is catching up.

Can we talk about mental health? Because of the mounting health issues, my mental state hasn’t been good. I’ve been quite depressed and finding it harder and harder to focus on every day tasks. I have mentioned that I am bipolar II, so swings into major depression are normal. We adjust my medication and go from there. This last adjustment didn’t seem to be as effective as we hoped. Thankfully, I go back the first week of March to readjust my medications. I’m finding it harder and harder to draw even though I enjoy it. I’m finding the motivation to write lacking as well.

To make things worse, this week hasn’t started off on the right foot. Our office manager at work decided to put in her two-week’s notice. She’s the lynchpin of the office. You know how they say that a workplace doesn’t revolve around one person? We’ll see about that. She does so much, I doubt it will be a smooth transition. Luckily, we have a staff member that is competent and skilled and will do a great job while the firm figures things out.

I did do a few doodles this week.

Our puppy Rikka also turned one year old!

Anyhow, I hope you are all faring better than me. I wish you happiness, health and much love!
