It is no secret that I love watching disc golf. This past weekend, Casey took me to watch The Open at Austin to see my all-time favorite disc golfer (and third love of my life after Suga of BTS), Calvin Heimburg. The weather, thankfully, cooperated on Saturday. We were slated for thunderstorms and it didn’t happen. The unfortunate part is me and Casey were dressed for the cooler, wetter weather. By mid-afternoon, we were sweating up a storm in our pants.

THIS WEEK’S DOODLES

I didn’t have much time to draw this week. To be honest, going to the gym in the mornings has sapped a good part of my energy. I’m feeling less and less like myself, but I think that will pass as I gain more stamina.

I love the one on the left. If you’ve watched Yuri on Ice, you might recognize him! I got pretty dang close. I messed up on his right ear, but whatever. I was pretty dang happy. The one on the right…YIKES. I am trying to create my own drawings (not just duplicating something I’ve already seen) and I drew his head crooked. Looks like he was dropped on his head as a baby, and maybe a few times as a young child. The blending didn’t work out the way that I wanted, but I like the colors I chose. You can see in some areas, the marker bled past the lining. I also made a poor choice of the thick liner around his eyes. Oh well, drawing is a learning process!

Let’s see. What else is up in my world?

Oh! I started a virtual walking challenge. I know people feel a certain way about them. I get it. When it comes down to it, you’re paying for a medal for a “race” that you didn’t run all at once. It is a bit deceptive when you get a medal that says you walked 45 miles when, in fact, you walked two-miles a day to reach the 45-mile goal at your own pace. Whatever. It’s fun and the medal for this “race” is badass. Here is a link to the medal: https://www.theconqueror.events/tokyo/

I think I will continue to do these. They’re fun motivation. I know some people make fun of those of us that need it, but whatever.

Spring is upon us. Did you do anything over spring break? Do you have any cool upcoming plans? Easter plans?

Anyhow, I better get going. I wish you happiness and health!

  1. I’ve seen the Conquerer advertised on Facebook a lot and I think it’s a cool idea. I like how you can see your progress on the route. Anything that motivates people to keep going is a great thing. Anyone saying otherwise is irrelevant. Keep it up!

    1. I’m only two days in and I think it is neat. The first “stop” was Meguro River’s Cherry Blossoms. In the app, you can read about the Meguro River area and see pictures and video!

The drawings are really good! I’m surprised you can get so much emotion in the looks with so little lines (especially the one on the left). Hey, whatever keeps you motivated is good 😊 I love the “streaks” (days in a row) on my language apps 😁 We’re going to a friend’s Easter get-together, and church.
