Can you believe that it’s already mid-April? Time is just cruising by!

UPDATE ON OFFICE 2.0

You might recall that a little over a year ago, our less-than-one-year-old office building had a fire and flooded. Lightning struck the roof, started a fire, the fire suppression went off and didn’t turn off. The water ran for hours before it was discovered the next day. Here is my beautiful office…with a couple of inches of water on the floor. It was a disaster.

We’ve been displaced for over a year now. We received an update on the rebuild. We should be able to move in mid-July so I am looking forward to it. I plan on doing some nice upgrades. I get new office furniture which is always nice. We were given a nice budget as well. I am going with white furniture again so that all my accent colors pop.

THE GYM

The gym is going okay. I wish I was more motivated than I am. I am still going three days a week, but getting discouraged at how slow things are going. I know I shouldn’t. My goal is to build endurance and that takes a long time. It isn’t going to happen overnight. I’m an overachiever by nature, so it is hard to turn that off. Even when I have a long-term plan. I’ve mentioned that my goal isn’t to necessarily lose weight, but I have lost 6 lbs. I’m trying to use that as motivation. I just hate exercising! HA!

DOODLES

I didn’t have much time to doodle as much as I wanted. However, I LOVE how my Rengoku came out. I am pretty proud of it. Not really feeling the Shinobu that I did. Her face looks funny. Then, I did an original drawing that I messed up the coloring of the hair.

SELF CARE

What do you do for self care? Self care is still something that I work on. I tend to think negatively about myself and that drains the motivation to take care of oneself. The thing I’ve been doing recently is getting my nails done. I used to do them myself to save money, but there is something to be said about going to the nail salon and having someone do them for you. For me, it is a bit healing. This week’s color is GREEN.

I hope you all are having a fantastic April. For my anime friends, I hope you’re enjoying the beginning of a new season. What are your favorites so far?

  1. Rengoku looks awesome. I can hear him yelling about how delicious something is.

At first, I thought your office had a nice shiny floor, but then I saw it. I was there not long ago as our entire basement flooded. It was up to ten centimeters in some areas.

I need to start doing something to look after myself. I’d say reading and watching anime, but I think I need something more. I used to go to this amazing Thai massage place in Auckland, however, haven’t found anything like that in Ottawa yet. I should get on that.

Keep going with your exercise. It’s slow to start, but after a while you’ll be surprised by how much you’ve improved. Slow and steady is the best way to see long lasting improvements.

    1. Massages are so nice! Self-care is hard. Especially when you have a busy life. It’s important, though. I hope you find a place where you can get a massage and relax!
