Taking a page from Merlin’s Musings (you should go read their crushes, too!), I wanted to also pen my top crushes in anime. I put a lot of consideration into this list. It’s hard when you’ve watched so much anime. I am sure I missed quite a few crushes.
#10: Kirito (Sword Art Online)

Oh, Kirito. Such an overpowered badass. I fell in love with his tenacity and loyalty. Kirito was always willing to defend others. His dedication to Asuna made him swoon-worthy.
#9: Hinata (Haikyuu!)

How can you not fall in love with Hinata? He’s passionate and hilarious. He can befriend anyone on or off the court. He lives and breathes volleyball and I am here for it! His bubbly personality and mental fortitude is hard not to love.
#8: Katsuki Yuri

From mentally struggling to strength, Yuri caught my attention and my heart. It was uplifting to watch him win his battle against anxiety and lack of confidence. I also fell in love with his grace on the ice.
#7: Hananoi (A Condition Called Love)

At first, he threw up red flags. His persistence was not a good thing. However, as the series progresses, he softens. He begins to respect his love interest and takes things slow. Not to mention, he is seriously good looking!
#6: Jinwoo (Solo Leveling)

I love Jinwoo’s development. He goes from the world’s weakest hunter to one of the strongest. I love how “the system” has forced his morals to go gray as he is forced to murder to survive. Let’s not forget, “the system” helps him become a total badass.
#5: Kudo (My Happy Marriage)

Another character that starts off unlikeable but grows on you. His softer side is heart warming as he does his best to make his fiancé feel safe. He strong and intimidating, and that also makes my heart swoon!
#4: Itsuomi (A Sign of Affection)

A world traveler, Itsuomi is wise and mature. He knows what he wants and is steadfast. He is a complete sweetheart to Yuki and takes things slow with her. He also goes out of his way to learn sign language so he can communicate with her. He’s considerate and kind and very easy to fall in love with.
#3: Hisoka (Hunter x Hunter)

I am a sucker for a good antagonist and Hisoka definitely fits that bill. He is adept at many styles of Nen making him ultra powerful. Who exactly is he? Why is he the way that he is? There are so many questions I have about Hisoka. He is clouded in mystery making me long for more.
#2: Sebastian Michaelis (Black Butler)

Sebastian. Oh, Sebastian. Who doesn’t love a good demon? I love his demonic nature. The whole premise of the show is serving Ciel so he can later make good on the contract he formed with Ciel and eat his soul. How awesome is that? The patience. The planning. The tenacity. The ambition. Not to mention, he is one hell of a butler.
#1: TANJIRO (Demon Slayer)

Wholesome. If I had to sum up Tanjiro in one word, it would be wholesome. What attracts me to Tanjiro is his love. Love for his sister. Love for his friends. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He has drive to continually improve himself to reach the end goal of turning his sister back into a human. He will stop at nothing to reach his goal. In the process, he helps others around him. He motivates those around him to become better and stronger. He’s the total package.
