EPISODE 7: LOVE 7. THE PRETTY BOY GOES ON A DATE

Mito hands Ruka a fireworks festival flyer. She wants to go to the festival with Ruka. He agrees, but wonders why he is so excited. Mito rushes to Juri and asks him for some cute clothes. Juri asks Mito if it is a date, and she smiles. Juri is seriously the bestest friend.

Juri looks through his clothes only to find that his yukata is plain and not cute at all. However, he pulls out something really cute and dresses up Mito. Juri pushes Mito out of the door right into Ren’s arms. Ren is taken by her beauty, but is also confused as to why Mito is wearing a woman’s yukata. Mito explains it belongs to Juri’s sister. Ren senses multiple vampires and begins to panic when Mito explains Ruka had something to do before the festival. He offers to walk her to the festival and stay with her until Ruka arrives.

Back in Ruka’s room, Ruka’s brothers have come to visit. There, they threaten Mito. Ruka begins to use his power, but he is outnumbered five-to-one.

At the festival, Mito is excited. Mito and Ren eat some festival food until Mito is full. She sees a young girl with a Love Magi figure and it reminds her of Ruka. The fireworks start without Ruka being with Mito. Instead she watches the fireworks with Ren. As the fireworks begin, Ren calls Mito beautiful, except she can’t hear. During the noise, he admits to Mito that he likes her. However, she still can’t hear him. As he is about to confess again, Mito sees a hurt Ruka walking up. When Mito looks for Ren, he’s gone. Ren has run away at the realization that he likes Mito.

Mito tries to get Ruka to tell her what happened. She wants him to get looked at but she trips and falls. Ruka picks Mito up while the crowd looks at them as a lovey-dovey couple. Mito is embarrassed, but most of all, she doesn’t want people to think they’re a couple. He takes her away from the crowd and heals her knee. In turn, Mito licks one of the wounds on Ruka’s face and Ruka is shocked. Mito explains that she doesn’t want people to think they’re a couple because he has a fated partner. However, Ruka dismisses that thought and said the only person he wants to protect is Mito. He leans in and kisses her.

When they break the kiss, the wounds on Ruka’s face disappear. Mito immediately thinks the kiss was because she had bit her lip and had blood on her lips. Ruka agrees to waive off the awkwardness. Internally, Ruka admits it was a real kiss.

When they return to the room, it is utterly destroyed. While Mito is out retrieving cleaning supplies, Kimori turns up holding one of his brothers in its animal form. Apparently, the magic Ruka used has kept his brothers from transforming. Kimori reminds Ruka what his duties are. R

Ruka tells Mito that he is going home for the break. Mito goes to Juri and realizes that they’re going home, too. Mito is all alone in the dorms. Or so she thinks. Ren is also staying in the dorms. This makes Mito especially happy. Ren, on the other hand, tells Mito to leave him alone.

Meanwhile, Mito is being followed by one of Ruka’s brothers in snake form. As Mito is preparing to take a bath, the snake is watching her. The snake bites her on the chest. As it goes in for more, Ren catches it and drains more power from it turning it into a worm. Ren is worried about Mito. She tries to turn him away, but she weakly falls. The wrap covering her breasts come off leaving Ren with a shock.

THOUGHTS

Well, the boobs are out of the wrap. Ren now knows Mito is a woman. What is he going to do with this new information? As I mentioned before, I am all for a Ren/Mito hookup. For whatever reason, I like them better as a couple. They seem to have more in common and Ren seems more mature than Ruka. I’m still leery of Komori. Part of me thinks he is pulling the strings to get Ruka to fall in love with Mito by telling him not to. I am almost convinced Komori knows that Mito is his destined partner. Looking forward to next week’s episode. Will continue to monitor.
