EPISODE 10: LOVE 10. THE PRETTY BOY TRANSFORMS

In the last episode, we left off with the revelation that Mito has physically transformed. Picking up from that scene, Ruka puts his jacket around Mito and whisks her away. In the shower, Ruka comes to bring her shampoo, but she is still in shock about being a man.

At the cafe, Komori announces that they are going to turn the cafe into a haunted house. Some of the boys are excited. Mito is still coming to terms with her recent transformation. Leave it to Juri to notice she looks more “manly.” That’s when Juri tells Mito that the school has a legend that if you do a certain thing, you’ll end up with the person you like. Of course Mito wants to hear about it.

Juri tells Mito that if they kiss before the bonfire dies out, they will be together forever with their crush. Juri admits he plans on confessing to Takara before the bonfire goes out. As Mito is changing, Ren walks in. She begs him to transform her back to girl. Ren tells her he can’t do that because if she goes back to being a girl, she’ll end up with Ruka. He again tells her that he’ll be with her whether she is a man or woman, so she needs to stop leading him on.

At the school cultural festival, the cafe is transformed and ready for the guests. Mito is struggling with her costume. When Ruka tries to help her, she becomes shy and Ruka teases her. As he walks off, she sees Ren. During the haunted house, both Mito and Ruka are vampires. The girls are swooning as they take them to be BL vampires.

Back in a coffin waiting for customers, Takara and Juri are hiding. When Juri asks why they are in a coffin together, Takara pats his head and tells him that his werewolf is too cute to be scary. Juri embraces Takara and confesses. He tells Takara he can tell his answer at the bonfire.

At the bonfire, Juri waits for Takara, but he doesn’t show up. He starts to cry and runs off, but as he runs off Takara shows up to see him running away.

Mito and Ruka are drinking strawberry juice. Ruka backs away from the fire because it is getting too hot and spills the juice all over Mito. He becomes entranced by the smell and starts to go toward Mito. Mito bears her neck and tells him to bite her. She wants to tell him that she’s his destined partner. He turns down her neck and says they should join in the dancing. Remembering what Juri told her about the bonfire, she rushes to kiss Ruka and exclaims that instead of going after some destined partner, he should love her since she is standing right in front of him. She begins to cry and runs away.

The next day, Juri and Mito are talking. Takara and Ruka have been distant since that night. Juri decides that if he can’t have Takara, he is going to organize a mixer and pick the right girl for Takara. He then tells Mito to bring Ruka.

At the mixer, a girl shows up that looks exactly like the female version of Mito! She even knows the details of their ice cream “date.”

Meanwhile, Ren’s father is watching his scheme going into play. The Founder/Komori walks up behind him. Ren’s father declares that Ren will lead the vampires and not Ruka. Komori hopes that Ruka picks the right one.

During the mixer, they stop for lunch in front of a waterfall. The girls made lunch. As Takara is complimenting the girls, Juri excuses himself. As Juri walks away, Takara seems concerned. He finds Juri and tells him that he doesn’t like to see him cry.

Mito is coming back with drinks. She gets an eyeful of what looks like Ruka kissing the other girl. Mito drops the drinks and runs away. The girl tells Ruka that she’ll go clear things up. They are standing on a bridge and the new girl causes the bridge to collapse making Ruka choose between the two. Ruka grabs the imposter’s hand. As Mito falls, she realizes that Ruka didn’t choose her.

THOUGHTS

Oh, Ruka. What a fool you are. First of all, how the hell could he not tell that Mito and female Mito are the exact same person?! I suppose we wouldn’t have a show if that were the case. What about The Founder? It is obvious that he is all-knowing. He knew about Ren’s father’s plan yet did nothing to circumvent it. He is obviously leaving faith in his son to make the right decision. I’m wondering what it will take to get Mito to transform back into a woman? Will it be when Ruka confesses his love to male Mito? Inquiring minds want to know! Will continue to monitor.
