Quick Recap: In the last chapter, the guys went on a group date. Ida was approached by a girl giving Aoki the impression that Ida would end up with a girlfriend. However, the girl was only after Ida because he reminded her of her real crush. In the end, Ida did not end up with a girlfriend making Aoki very happy. So happy, he fell asleep on Ida’s shoulder making Ida feel self conscious.
Chapter 10: Back at school, we learn that Aida now has a girlfriend breaking Hashimoto’s heart. Aoki tries to encourage Hashimoto to go after Aida, but they both realize they’re cowards and couldn’t do such a thing. They realize that they’re going to their school trip without a boyfriend/girlfriend.
Upon arriving in Hokkaido, they realize that their idyllic school trip is actually a skiing boot camp. The teacher is gung-ho and they’re really not having much fun. The students were separated into classes and Ida/Aida made Class A. Hashimoto and Aoki are in Class D. Class D gets all the hellish accommodations, last to take baths, and barely any food. Aida/Ida swoop in to help with the food situation by bringing them some of their food.

Spartan training continues. The coach drops a truth bomb on both Hashimoto and Aoki. He asks if they know why they aren’t improving. He tells them that they are quitters! Well, they kind of already know that about themselves, but it stings to hear someone point it out. Aida/Ida help out Hashimoto and Aoki, but they still fail their make-up skiing exam. In an effort to cheer them up, Ida suggests they leave the building. The four of them go out and Aoki drags Ida away from Hashimoto and Aida so they could be alone. Ida then remembers that Aoki had something to tell Ida. Ida gathers his courage and re-confesses.

Chapter 11: Before he knew it, Aoki began to fall from a hill. Ida jumped to protect him. Ida hit his head and was bleeding. In a panic, Aoki fashioned some skis out of branches and headed to get a teacher. Instead of getting in trouble, Aoki was awarded a medal.
Hashimoto finds out that Aida’s girlfriend dumped him. She tries to gather the courage to tell Aida. Meanwhile, Ida suggests to Aoki that they try dating!

Chapter 12: Aoki is freaking out about dating Ida. He never expected Ida to actually suggest that they date. Now, he is second-guessing whether it happened at all. Aida tells Aoki to talk to Ida about it. Meanwhile, there is weird tension between Aida and Hashimoto. Aoki decides to text Ida about it. However, Ida leaves his message on read and then randomly texts back that they should talk at school tomorrow. At school, they confirm that they are, in fact, dating. But, neither of them have actually dated anyone. When Ida asks Aoki if there is anything he wants to do, he suggests they go to a movie starring a dog that looks like Ida’s dog. While at a cafe, the girl from the double date showed up and mentions Ida’s crush. Another miscommunication. Aoki gets upset and walks out. Ida grabs him and mentions that he was staring at Aoki and she got the idea he was staring at Hashimoto. Just then, he drops a bomb on Aoki:

Chapter 13: Hashimoto tells Aoki that she was rejected by Aida. Aoki asks how it went down. She tells Aoki that as she told Aida all the nice things he has done for her, he brushed them off. She realized that she was invisible to him. Distraught, she asks Aoki if he likes mohawks. Sensing she is serious, Aoki does his best to cheer her up. Aoki does his best to get Aida to remember how nice he was to Hashimoto. However, he can’t. He just sees Hashimoto as a fellow classmate. Just then, Hashimoto comes around the corner and accuses him of talking behind her back. They get into an argument and storm off their separate ways. Hashimoto makes her way to her mohawk appointment. Aida does his best to stop her and succeeds. They have a heart-to-heart talk. Aida admits that he doesn’t see her that way. But, unable to be deterred, she asks Aida if it is okay to force him to get to know her. He takes her up on her challege.

THOUGHTS
I love Ida. He’s so considerate. I am still not sure what he sees in Aoki. Aoki is a bit immature and fickle, but Ida seems to like that about him. I am glad Hashimoto is growing a backbone. She really showed some guts to tell Aida her feelings and to not back down. I’m not too sure I like Aida, either. I am not sure he is deserving of Hashimoto. He’s carefree and inconsiderate. I am hoping, as the series progresses, that Aida and Aoki get their acts together and mature a little bit.
