It’s the end of the spring season! That means it is time to gear up for the summer season!
FAVORITE SHOWS OF THE SPRING SEASON
Honorable Mention: I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability

I originally hated this show. My husband had read the source material and knew ahead of time what to expect. However, it took me the whole three-episode test to get into the show. We follow protagonist Lloyd as he perfects his magic. He’s super overpowered, and adorably cute. I love how they portrayed Lloyd. They did a good job of illustrating him as young and playful. The show is action-packed near the end, so don’t get caught up in it’s slow start.
A Condition Called Love

Coming in at number three is A Condition Called Love. It is a sweet love story of two high-schoolers navigating love and what it means to love each other. Hananoi originally believes that he must find his one-true soulmate and put them above all else, even himself. It makes him a bit obsessive and toxic. Hotaru is a girl that doesn’t necessarily want to fall in love because it changes people. Over time, their polar opposites meet in the middle.
Kaiju No. 8

Surprised it came in at number two? So am I! I really enjoyed the action in Kaiju No. 8. Hibino Kafka is such a loveable and admirable protagonist. The light humor added to the impactful action scenes. I loved how everyone around Kafka teased him for being so old, and yet, grew to respect him despite his obvious lack of skill and talent.
Windbreaker

Windbreaker took me by surprise. I wasn’t initially excited for the concept, but I am glad that I gave it a chance. Windbreaker follows our protagonist, Sakura, as he navigates becoming part of something bigger than himself. Always an outcast, Sakura has grown to distrust people and to fight to become the strongest. However, when he gets to Furin, he begins to learn that he can’t become the best without the help of others. The fight scenes are epic.
