Quick Recap. Hashimoto and Aida start dating, but Hashimoto quickly realizes that Aida just “gave in” to her feelings, so she breaks up with him. Aida realizes after the break-up that he really does like Hashimoto and asks her out again. Aoki plucks up the courage and kisses Ida on the cheek. Discussing their future, Ida and Aoki decide to go on a campus visit in Kyoto.
Chapter 26. While discussing Kyoto, it becomes obvious that Aoki was preoccupied with his own decisions that he wasn’t really paying attention to Ida’s college plans. Ida appears mad stating that Aoki doesn’t have to go to the college visit. After Ida leaves, Aoki talks things over with Aida. Aida makes sure to tell Aoki that he was surprised Ida didn’t dump him. Aida then suggests that Aoki make it up to Ida by being the perfect trip planner. While Ida is focusing on his last volleyball game, Aoki goes into trip planning mode.
The day of open campus arrives and Aoki is a wealth of knowledge. He thanks Aida by text. Aida is sitting with Hashimoto in the library. He wishes that he was in Kyoto, but also realizes that studying with Hashimoto has brought his grades up. It’s the end of open campus day and Ida wants to talk to Aoki. Aoki is convinces that Ida is going to break up with him. As they talk, Ida apologizes for sulking. Ida comes to the realization that he’s changing. He normally doesn’t bat an eye at being alone, but for some reason, things are different with Aoki. When they arrive at the hotel, they realize…there is only one bed.

Chapter 27. They go down to the front desk only to discover that Aoki reserved a double bed not realizing that it is a larger bed and not two twins. The hotel is able to find a room in the older, unrenovated part of the hotel. Aoki immediately assumes that the room is haunted. Ida has a good time freaking Aoki out. Aoki is the first to bathe. As he is bathing, Ida is watching a show on ghosts. When it was Ida’s turn, Aoki plans to switch the channel, but gets sucked in by a story where a ghost called the room in the middle of the night and said, “Let’s play.” When they looked up, there was a ghost of a bloody woman. Just then, the lights go out. Aoki jumps into Ida’s arms terrified. The lights come back on and Ida asks Aoki to let him go because he is “shaking him up.” Aoki immediately thinks Ida is scared, but I’m not so sure. As they go to sleep, Aoki asks Ida to do something to make the ghosts go away. He lists a few things to include “getting frisky.” Ida decides that he is going to make a move, but realizes Aoki is already asleep. Aoki is dreaming of ghost and Ida can’t sleep for other reasons. Upon arrival to Tokyo, they decide to go to college together.

Back in Tokyo, Aoki tells Hashimoto of their trip. Aoki joins Hashimoto and Aida’s study group where Aoki learns how much Aida’s grades have improved. When they leave the library, Hashimoto points out a flyer to Aida and asks him if he wants to go to a festival during the summer.
Chapter 28. Ida and Aoki cancel their plans to go to the festival because of predicted rain. However, Aida and Hashimoto go and get caught in the rain. While waiting for the bus, Hashimoto cries because she really wanted to do something for Aida for studying with her. The bus is running late. Hashimoto gets a call from her dad and tells her he’s picking them up. Aida is not ready to meet her parents, however dad shows up and looks buff to boot. Aida is convinced he is going to die at the hands of Hashimoto’s dad. At Hashimoto’s house, dad is putting on the tough act. Hashimoto’s mom lends him some dry clothes to wear. They invite him to eat dinner. Aida compliments the mom but is quickly put in his place when dad is actually the one cooking. Hashimoto’s dad continues to lay on the act thick. Hashimoto’s mom smacks the crap out of dad for intimidating Aida and Aida comes to the realization that Hashimoto’s dad is a former pro wrestler that he used to love watching.

They end up watching his old matches and bonding. As Aida is leaving, he gives Hashimoto a kiss. The dad runs out and hands him his now-clean-clothes and mentions that he needs to keep things PG.
On a phone call with Aida, Aoki realizes that he knows nothing about Ida’s family life. He told Ida not to tell anyone they’re dating. Aoki wonders what Ida thinks about their situation.
THOUGHTS
I don’t blame Ida for getting upset with Aoki. Aoki is a bit self-centered and a tad bit immature. Ida is being open and honest with his feelings and Aoki is spending too much time worried about himself to see Ida’s honesty about going to Kyoto together. Aoki does slightly redeem himself by planning the trip when Ida had other engagements to attend to.
I was totally rooting for Ida when he decided to make a move. Too bad Aoki was already asleep.
What about Hashimoto’s parents! What a riot. It completely explains why she is so “gorilla-like.” Props to Aida for manning up and giving her a kiss.
