This is an epically hard question. I have a ton of games that I love in every genre. I can’t just pick one. So, I’ll list my favorite from each genre.
FAVORITE CARD GAME

In the trick-taking card game The Crew: Mission Deep Sea, you and the other players work together to search for the lost continent of Mu. This new adventure takes your crew deep down into the abyss on a search for the fabled sunken land. How far you get depends entirely on how well you work together as a team. Card by card, trick by trick, your search party will discover the challenges that lie ahead and forge a path to Mu.

My favorite card game is The Crew. I mostly like it because you work together as a group rather than individuals. It’s also insanely fun. It is a trick-taking game much like spades. Your communication is limited so you really have to keep track of the cards and pay attention to what your crewmates play. I am absolutely terrible at trick-taking games, but I immensely enjoy this one.
FAVORITE BOARD GAME
This is a VERY hard one. I have a TON of favorite board games. Wingspan, Potion Explosion, Aqua, Machi Koro, Mystical Market…SO many. If I am going on the board game my husband and I turn to the most, it’s Azul.

In the game Azul, players take turns drafting colored tiles from suppliers to their player board. Later in the round, players score points based on how they’ve placed their tiles to decorate the palace. Extra points are scored for specific patterns and completing sets; wasted supplies harm the player’s score. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Azul is super fun. We played it a lot when we went on our cruise. There is a travel version that is super simple to pack up and bring with you. It’s a tile-laying game. You randomly select tiles and match them on your board. Almost like Bingo. However, there is a strategy on when and how to lay your tiles to score the most points. I’m terrible and lose to my husband every time, but I still enjoy playing it.

With over 1,500 hours played, this is most definitely my most cherished game. I love the crafting aspect of it. I burn out on it, but always come back.
