I grew up pretty poor. Vacations were not a thing in my household. In my 20s and 30s, I still didn’t have the means to take a proper vacation. Now that I am in my 40s, I finally have the means to go to places I have never been.
WONDER OF THE SEAS
In January 2025, we are going to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Perfect Day at Coco Cay on the Wonder of the Seas. This is the first time we will be sailing with Royal Caribbean. We’re really excited for this cruise since it is the third largest ship in the world. I am looking forward to the adult-only sections. It’s nice to cruise without the chaos children bring. I am glad that they offer child-free areas. When we’re at Perfect Day, we also opted to stay in the child-free areas. The way this year is going, I can’t wait for the cruise.
MAJESTIC PRINCESS
In February 2026, we have booked a cruise with Princess to go to Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao. I’ve always wanted to go to Aruba. Next to Japan, it has been on my bucket list. I am looking forward to the beautiful beaches.
JAPAN
We have plans to go to Japan in April/May 2028. That is, if we can afford it. We opened up a savings account in hopes that we’ll have enough saved in four years. The most expensive part is the plane tickets. My husband is a big guy and flying coach isn’t really an option for us. We’ve decided to fly business class which means plane tickets that far exceed the cost of the actual trip. We might not end up going if prices keep going up. We’re hoping, at some point, ticket prices stabilize.
