I wish I could honestly say that I am a great goal planner. The truth is, I am not.
I “know” a guy. He is a great goal planner. Even has a five-year plan. I don’t even have a next-day plan. I look up to him. Well, as much as you can look up to a total stranger. I am always in awe of that ability to make a plan and chase after it! It’s admirable. It’s a skill I wish I had.
I, on the other hand, have no idea what I am going to do tomorrow other than wake up and go to work. A goal? Usually, it’s to drink copious amounts of coffee and try not to fall asleep at my desk. Does that constitute goal planning?
I’m impulsive. Mostly due to my mental health issues. It takes a lot for me to power up and hit the “go” button. It often takes me days, weeks, months, years to think of a plan and execute it. And, even then, I fall off the bandwagon. Let’s be honest. It is a GIVEN that I will fall off the bandwagon.
So, when you ask, “How do you plan your goals…”
I don’t. Not usually. I trip, fall, or splat into them. What can I say? I am a creature of grace.
