Daily writing prompt
What are your top ten favorite movies?

I’m pretty sure I’ve answered this a few times, but my list often changes. To most, I probably have horrible taste in movies.

#10 – Lord of The Rings

I absolutely love the Lord of the Rings movies. I would have to say Fellowship of the Ring is my favorite of the series.

#9 – Pride and Prejudice

There is something terribly romantic about this movie. I think it grabs me because it revolves around a huge misunderstanding that resolves itself. The two stubborn protagonists finally let down their guard and realize that they love each other.

#8 – Pacific Rim

This is a terrible film. Absolutely terrible, and I love it! There is something awesome about huge mechs beating kaiju butt! The acting is terrible, though.

#7 – The Proposal

I feel like this is one of Ryan Reynold’s greatest pieces of work after Deadpool. He plays a great romantic lead.

#6 – Krampus

If you haven’t watched Krampus, you should. It’s absolutely horrible. I love it because it highlights the dark, seedy underbelly of Christmas.

#5 – Elf

How can you not love Elf?! Truly Will Ferrell’s masterpiece. I can’t go one holiday season without breaking out Elf on Thanksgiving.

#4 – Starship Troopers

Another absolutely terrible movie. I love Starship Troopers. It’s filled with the most awesome quotes.

#3 – Doom

I stream this movie as often as I can. There is something fun about it.

#2 – Serenity

I love Firefly. I am so sad, along with the rest of its cult fanatics, that it didn’t have more seasons. I am glad they gave us a movie, though!

#1 – Aliens

This will ALWAYS be my favorite movie. Nothing will ever top it. The suspense and action is top tier. Not to mention, Ripley is the original badass. I love how she rises up from the ashes and finds her courage and strength.

  1. There are some truly terrible films in here. I approve!!! Not sure how I’d even begin to come up with a top ten list though, but if I did I’d probably go the same route – what can I watch over and over again and still love.

  2. Aliens really is a classic space horror! So good! I also like the original The Thing movie. Hmm, I’m not sure what I would put on my Top Ten movie list, there’s just too many movies that I like.
