Do you or your family make any special dishes for the holidays?
I don’t have a large family, and we don’t do a huge gathering. It’s usually just me, my son AJ, and my husband Casey.
My menu for Thanksgiving hasn’t changed in years:
- Brined and roasted turkey
- Cornbread Dressing
- Mashed Potatoes
- Mac and Cheese
- Rosemary Dinner Rolls
- Whole Cranberry Sauce
- Giblet Gravy
- Roasted Vegetables

The dish the family is usually anticipates the most is the cranberry sauce. There is nothing special about it, so I don’t know why they like it so much.
ChibiChonk’s Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients:
- 12 ounce bag of whole cranberries, washed
- 1 cup of orange juice
- Zest of one orange
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
Method:
Combine juice, sugar, zest, and cinnamon sticks in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar is dissolved and comes to a slow boil. Turn down heat to low. Add cranberries. Allow to cook until most of the berries have burst and the sauce has thickened.

What about you?
