Let’s talk vampires. What is it about them that makes them so desirable? Is it the danger? The darkness? The seduction? Is it the promise of immortality that draws us in? For me, all of the above.

VAMPIRE KNIGHT

This is one of my all-time favorites. Judge me all you want, but I love the drama. This anime was originally run in 2008 and the animation immediately gives that away. There is nothing wrong with the animation, it’s just dated.

Vampire Knight is the story of Yuki Cross and her struggle to reconcile her feelings between Zero Kiryu and Kaname Kuran. It’s a love triangle, y’all. How much more do you need?! She attends a very special school. One with a day class for humans and a night class for vampires. However, the day class is unaware that they’re vampires. They think the night class is full of idols that have to go to class at night. There is this whole weird vibe that I dig. There are twists and turns that made my heart race.

I can recognize that Vampire Knight won’t be for everyone. At its core, it’s a bit school-girl silly, but I love it and if you love weird love triangles, this one is for you.
