EPISODE 1 – I Got My Memories From My Past Life Back

Our protagonist is a chubby little five-year old noble by the name of Ageha. He’s the eldest son of Count Kikunoi of the Kiou Empire. Six month’s prior, he was afflicted with a high fever. It was then that his past memories came back.

He was a Japanese man who loved to cook, sew, do home improvement and watching musicals. He would help his friends make cosplay costumes. After a three-day binge of sewing and attending a comic-con, he was walking in record heat, got home, and collapsed. That is where his memories stopped. He died of heat stroke.

We learn that he hasn’t seen his parent’s in over a year. He is taken care of by his nursemaid, Rottenmeier. He started exercising to lose weight. The staff made a big deal of it because before he got his memories back, he was a terror when it came to food. He always demanded candy and NO vegetables.

In a sad turn of events, after gaining his memories back, he realizes that no one loves him. Even when he was sick, his parents didn’t come to visit. The only visitors were staff and that was because they are paid to take care of him.

After profusely apologizing to the staff, he decided to learn all of their jobs. After a few months, the staff began to accept him.

The furthest part of the grounds is a beautiful flower garden. There, Ageha would sing to the flowers.

Ageha’s tutor is an elf by the name of Aleksei Romanov. He teaches Ageha that the Kiou Empire is trying to create peace and reunification between the East and West. However, Ageha’s family, the Kikunoi, have oppressed the peasantry to exhaustion.

Mr. Romanov asks Ageha about the embroidery he was placing on his cape. Ageha embroidered a special symbol on Mr. Romanov’s cape that wards off evil. He teases Ageha and says doing it properly is the first step to becoming a good wife. They take a look at his stats which support Mr. Romanov’s teasing.

Mr. Romanov tries to teach Ageha magic, but Ageha can’t seem to concentrate well enough to do it. Meanwhile, Ageha keeps returning to the garden daily to sing. He notices a peony that wasn’t there the day before. Come to find out, it was a goddess that enjoyed listening to his singing. Sensing her aura, he immediately bows down to her. We learn her name is Princess Hyakka, Goddess of Healing and Blessings.

Princess Hyakka loves the song Ageha sings and wishes to reward him. However, Ageha thinks to himself that he shouldn’t be rewarded for a song from his former world. Hearing his thoughts, she tells him it doesn’t matter. She whacks him on the back of the neck and loosens something so that he can do magic. She tells him he needs to sing for her every day.

The next day, Mr. Romanov and Ageha looks at his status sheet. He can now use magic, and has a note that he is a beloved of Princess Hyakka.

Ageha is still unsure about who the goddess is. Mr. Romanov teaches Ageha that the Goddess is the primary Goddess over their nation.

Ageha goes to sing for the Goddess, but she tells him he is off-key. She forgives him because he doesn’t have a music teacher. Ageha looks to the sky and notices it is looking stormy. With a wicked look in her eye, she asks if he is interested in the heavens and then offers to take him. Something is not quite right. Just then, Mr. Romanov appears to stop her from taking him to the heavens.

She is irritated by his arrival. Mr. Romanov admits that he hid because the child had fear in his eyes when asked about his blessing. The truth of the matter is, Ageha was afraid to let his past life be known. Being able to read his thoughts, the Goddess tells the elf that she taught him the song and as punishment for his rudeness, the elf must now tell people he taught Ageha the song.

As they return to the mansion, Rottenmier tells Ageha that his parents are returning.

THOUGHTS

What a cute show! I’m interested in this Goddess. What is her ulterior motive with Ageha? She seems a little fishy. Mr. Romanov obviously knows more than he is letting on by protecting Ageha.

It is sad that he came to the realization that no one loves him. His parents don’t care for him and leave him with paid servants. The servants don’t care for him because he is a spoiled brat.

I get a kick out of all his hobbies and how Mr. Romanov teases him about them. He would make an excellent spouse!

I am actually quite interested in this one. Will continue to monitor.
