It is a controversial subject. Do you watch anime with subtitles or dubbed with English voice actors?
Real friends don’t let friends watch dubs.
I am Team Sub. I HAVE to watch it in its native form. Also, I can’t get used to English voice actors. It doesn’t sound the same. In fact, I cringe at the voice acting. It just doesn’t hit the same. The cadence, the timing, the inflection. It’s all too different.
That being said, to each their own.
What team are you on? Subs or dubs?
Ooo, Subs or Dubs? Them is fighting words! Lol, it doesn’t matter what you go for, there’s a debate brewing over it. And it feel like in the Otaku world, it’s a debate that has been going since the beginning of time. Or at least since the beginning of anime imports. For me, I usually set the audio to subs, but I don’t actually read them unless there’s a really tricky word, or the characters are talking too fast. Like I recently watched Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, and holy moly were characters chattering quickly. I really needed to keep on my toes to keep up with the dialog! So for me I lean heavily on the 3rd option, raw anime. No annoying subtitles to follow, great practice learning a language, and it’s super fun.
