In a world filled with protagonists and their sidekicks, which duo do you think fits the bill for “best anime duo” that ISN’T a romantic couple.

Let me start by saying I don’t watch a lot of shonen, and I believe that is probably the genre that will have the most substantial examples of “best anime duo.” However, I believe the duo I chose is a strong contender.

Tanjiro and Nezuko
Demon Slayer

Tanjiro and Nezuko are the ultimate brother/sister duo. Tanjiro is blessed with kindness, tenacity, intestinal fortitude, and a profound love for his sister Nezuko. Nezuko is blessed with strength, both physically and mentally with a profound love of her brother. Together, with their powers combined, they fight demons while searching for a cure to turn Nezuko back into a human.

Nezuko possesses a unique blood demon art. Her blood literally explodes into a pink flame and only effects demons.

Tanjiro possesses two breathing techniques. Water breathing and sun breathing. When joined with Nezuko, they are hard to beat.

While strong fighters, they are also strong lovers. Not in the romantic sense, but in the familial sense. Their love for each other knows no bounds. They will do anything for one another, and that makes them extra special. They hold both sides of the coin making Tanjiro and Nezuko my choice for best anime duo.
