I’ve been pretty down on myself lately. In therapy, we talked about being kinder to myself and finding ways to break the monotony that I feel stuck in. One of the things that I tend not to do, that I should do, is take better care of my skin. After all, I am not getting any younger. As I was thinking this, the targeted-ad Gods sent me an Estee Lauder targeted ad for a 12-piece holiday blockbuster gift set. It boasts over $600 worth of skincare and makeup for $90. I couldn’t pass up the deal. I am a huge fan of Estee Lauder’s foundation. That stuff is magical.
I’ve been using the set for awhile and I now understand why good skin care is so damn expensive. My skin feels so soft and hydrated.
STEP ONE: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Cleansing Gelee Cleanser with 15 Amino Acids

I wear full coverage foundation, so getting it completely off is a struggle. So, before I actually wash my face, I use a makeup removing towelette (shout out to Kirkland brand) to remove the bulk of the makeup. I then use the Night Cleansing Gelee. Holy smokes, this stuff is good. My skin doesn’t feel stripped or greasy. Just supple. Now, I can’t attest to whether it would break up full coverage foundation since I pre-wash, but I can say that it does a fantastic job with what the wipe left behind.
A 3.4 ounce tube costs $34.00 and can be found HERE.
STEP TWO: Advanced Night Repair Serum Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex

After my face has air-dried, I put on the serum. It’s a bit weird feeling, but I can tell a moisture difference after I put it on.
This one hits the pocketbook a bit more. You can get 1.7 ounces for $130.00 through Estee Lauder.
STEP THREE: Revitalizing Supreme+ Moisturizer Youth Power Creme

After the serum goes on the moisturizer. I have been a faithful user of Tatcha for the past few years, but I might have found a new favorite. This formula makes my skin feel so hydrated and not greasy at all.
Again, good skin care hits the wallet. You can get one ounce for $70.00 on Estee Lauder‘s website.
STEP FOUR: Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Gel-Creme Synchronized Multi-Recovery Eye Cream

Say that ten times in a row. I am new to eye cream. I don’t really fuss with it at all. However, I can say the wrinkles around my eyes are lessening in harshness. Going away? No. Lessening. Yes.
A 0.5 ounce jar of this miracle creme is $76.00 and can be found on Estee Lauder‘s website.
So, there you have it. Estee Lauder roped me in their skin care regimen by giving me most of it for free. So far, I definitely feel a difference. More so than other over-the-counter brands that I usually use. The truth is, my skin is getting older, so I probably shouldn’t depend on the stuff that got me through the younger years of my life.
Sometimes, you have to focus on the little things to get you through the tougher times.
