Episode 1 Recap.
We meet Kondou. An otherworlder that was accidentally summoned with the Holy Maiden to another world. He’s a middle-aged office worker that has permanent look of exhaustion and bags under his eyes. Instead of choosing a life of luxury, he chooses to work and gets assigned to the Royal Accounting Department. There, he catches the eye of the Prime Minister and the cold-hearted Commander Indolark.
Episode 2: I Got Promoted
Back at the alchemy shop, Commander Indolark is picking up an order. The worker mentions that their errand boy just came by describing Kondou. As Indolark leaves the shop, he hears the crashing of glass on the floor. There, he finds Kondou in bad shape.

He immediately tries to heal Kondou with magic. However, Kondou gets worse. Instead of overdoes symptoms, he now has magic sickness symptoms. Indolark deduces it must be because he’s an otherworlder. Wrapping Kondou in his arms, he takes him to a room. When Kondou awakes, Indolark is looking down at him. Indolark explains the dire situation.

Indolark explains to Kondou that he has to “familiarize” him to his magic but needs his consent. He gives it and Indolark begins to undress and begins to touch Kondou before kissing him. Indolark then explains that they will have to go further.

The next morning, Kondou wakes up and Indolark is pouring coffee. However, when Kondou realizes what time it is, he immediately gets dressed and tells Indolark he’s late for work and will thank him properly later. Indolark stands utterly confused.

Kondou arrives at work and immediately gets started noting his lower back hurts (lewd!). He begins to think about the events of the night slowly rubbing his fingers on his lips. He smacks himself out of the daydream.

Kondou asks Norbert what one does to thank a noble. Norbert makes sure to tell Kondou that slighting a noble could mean imprisonment. Kondou then inquires about the price of being treated by magic and is told it would cost gold coins. Kondou realizes that he would most likely need to pay in installments.
Meanwhile, Indolark is helping the Holy Maiden with her magic training. She invites him to lunch and it dawns on Indolark that Kondou is probably not eating well or taking proper care of himself.
Indolark makes his way to the cafeteria and asks the accounting department where Kondou is. Norbert tells him that Kondou usually brings his own lunch. Indolark makes his way to the accounting office where he finds Kondou working hard. Indolark grabs Kondou and makes him go to the doctor. There, they learn that Kondou has a low tolerance for magicules which occurs even in their world’s food.

They surmise that Kondou is slowly building a resistance to magicules, so he should use his diet to slowly acclimate. Indolark immediately grabs Kondou’s hand and walks him to the cafeteria where he starts filling his plate and teaching him what has low magicules.

After lunch, Kondou works late. Indolark immediately bursts through the door and starts admonishing him for staying at work late when he should be recuperating.

Indolark starts to drag Kondou away, but Kondou pulls away and states he will go home. Indolark then tells him to change and takes him to a local restaurant. Kondou is still full from lunch, but Indolark makes sure he is eating well. Annoyed, Indolark grills Kondou on why he is even working. The kingdom guaranteed his safety. Kondou replies that it is to establish his self-worth and that he is more at ease working. Indolark thinks to himself that Kondou annoys him and yet…
THOUGHTS
Sigh. I wish it was spicier, but beggars can’t be choosers. It had it’s moments. We have now established that Kondou is reliant on Indolark’s “healing”. I can’t wait to see where it leads us!
