Episode 2: Do You Like Me?

When Kinoshita arrives at Tamon’s house, he has a suitcase packed and is struggling with his manager while stating he is going to retire. Kinoshita asks Tamon what he means, and he divulges that the meet-and-greet has him wanting to throw up.

Tamon goes downhill on a negative tangent on how he is going to mess up and let his doom and gloom ruin everything. Kinoshita goes into fan mode and reminds him that his goal is to make everyone smile. To prepare him, she brings two year’s worth of materials for him to study. Her personal notes, magazine interviews, blogs, and articles that she has saved.

Tamon asks for her help, but she immediately declines because she can’t imagine herself taking up his time. However, Tamon thinks he is a walking trash bag for assuming he could take up her time. Kinoshita decides to help him, but she is out of her league. Tamon is just too sexy.

The day of the meet-and-greet comes. Two girls start to argue and Kinoshita gets involved. In a turn of events, all three girls are kicked out of the meet-and-greet.

Disappointed in the turn of events, Kinoshita goes to work. Waiting for her in the lobby is Tamon. He asks her why she wasn’t there and she tells him she lost her ticket. He tells her to ask him anything and he’ll respond. When she asks him to be her Tamon-kun for just one minute, he says no and turns into Gloomyhara-san. He begins to cry and tells her he waited all day for her so she could see the fruits of his labor.

Kinoshita finds Tamon crying again. This time, he has to have his outfit judged. Unfortunately, Tamon only owns black sweats with a hoodie. Kinoshita offers to take him shopping so that Tamon could rest easy. They meet at the mall.

Kinoshita picks out several outfits for him to try. Each time, his need to provide fanservice knocking her out. He struggles to put on one of the necklaces she picked for him.

She then takes him to a family restaurant after shopping. She tells him she goes there with her friends. Tamon is a bit jealous. Then, Kinoshita’s friends show up. They try to pressure Tamon to take off his bag, but instead, he grabs Kinoshita’s hand and runs away.

Once they stop, Kinoshita apologizes to Tamon. When he asks why, she tells him that a fan shouldn’t monopolize his time and put him in danger of being caught by the paparazzi. She tells him she will stay at least 3 meters away from him at all times. He keeps trying to interrupt her, but he finally kneels down and asks:

She nods. He tells her to shut up and listen to him. He smiles and tells her he had a lot of fun. A few days later, he was praised for having the boyfriend look.

Tamon tries to cook a rolled omelet and butchers it. He starts berating himself, but Kinoshita reminds him that he makes his fans happy. She easily talks him out of being down on himself. There to witness it is his manager. He asks her what entails “household chores” and she says pretty much anything.

The manager breathes easy and leaves. Kinoshita realizes that she is now entrusted to help Tamon with his idol work. While cleaning, she gets a text message. It’s a candid shot of Tamon from the fan club. She immediately screams and Tamon smiles. She apologizes, but he tells her it is alright. She tells him all his fans do the same, but he quickly retorts he doesn’t know about all of them, but to him, she’s special.

While watching Tamon perform on television, she sees him kiss the necklace she picked out for him, and then he waves.

THOUGHTS

Oh. em. gee.

This show is going to make me go into a diabetic coma because Tamon is too sweet. If I were still a young person, I would totally be Kinoshita. Hell, I’m NOT a young person and I still have fantasies of just being SEEN by my favorite idol! I couldn’t image actually being their friend.

I love the duality of both characters. It keeps me on my toes. Will continue to monitor!
