EPISODE 5: Rain

Kinoshita gets a call from work. Someone has specifically requested her services. She arrives at a huge home and Ouri answers the door. Kinoshita is appalled that the competition hasn’t ended yet and the implication that she is going to Ouri as a fan. Ouri tells her this is a different matter. He asks Kinoshita if she is dating Tamon.

She immediately denies it claiming Tamon would never settle for one girl. Getting his answer, he tells Kinoshita she could leave. However, he slumps over her with a fever. Kinoshita goes into housekeeper mode and takes care of Ouri. He asks her to come back the next day.

Kinoshita leaves Ouri’s house and heads to Gloomyhara’s place, but she recognizes that she’s nervous.

While cleaning Gloomyhara’s apartment, he asks Kinoshita if she went to Ouri’s place. Ouri texted Tamon a picture. She mentions that Ouri is sick and Tamon is worried about Ouri. He’s never missed a practice before.

The next day, Kinoshita returns to Ouri’s house to take care of the chores and check in on Ouri. His fever has gone up. Kinoshita recognizes that Ouri must be under the same pressure as Tamon. The doorbell rings and entering the house is none other than Tamon. He brings Ouri a bag of sugar because he likes sweet things. Ouri tries to berate Tamon, but Kinoshita steps in between and tells them both to chill.

Ouri puts them both to work cleaning his pool. It is there that Kinoshita asks how Tamon really feels about Ouri. She learns that Ouri had taken Tamon under his wing when they auditioned. When Tamon won first place, their relationship soured.

Meanwhile, in the competition for center, Ouri and Tamon go back and forth. Kinoshita is leaving Tamon’s apartment when he realizes she left her fan. He goes out to give it to her only to overhear he telling Ouri to do his best. Our rescinds the bet and asks Kinoshita to be his fan if he wins.

Tamon goes back to his apartment without giving Kinoshita her fan. He is obviously troubled by what he heard.

Tamon is working hard. A bit too hard. He falls asleep on the couch while Kinoshita is cleaning. She is amazed at how good he looks while sleeping. As she cleans the table in front of the couch, Tamon rouses from his sleep just enough to hug her from behind.

The next day is the final competition. Tamon and Ouri arrive before the final competition to get ready. Both of their voices are raspy from pushing too hard. After their performances, Kinoshita knows that Tamon didn’t do well. All she could think about his his well being. Is he crying? Eating something more than noodles?

At a closed meeting, the results are told to the group. The reveal won’t be until their upcoming pre-release concert. After being scolded for not doing their best, Tamon opens up to Ouri about how scared he is in disappointing or betraying his fans. While he is talking it out, it is obvious he is talking about disappointing Kinoshita and losing her support.

It’s the concert and the center is revealed. Keito beat both Ouri and Tamon. As the performance continues, Kinoshita is moved. She flashes a banner proclaiming Tamon will always be the center in her heart.

Tamon see Kinoshita and her sign and immediately starts to cry while performing.

THOUGHTS

Poor Tamon. He is really struggling to understand his emotions and feelings. That isn’t too surprising though. I feel like this is a testament to how real-life idols feel. They’re thrust into the spotlight and focus so much on work, that personal feelings and experiences are non-existent. It was obvious that Tamon is worried that he will lose Kinoshita. She obviously means a lot to him, but he hasn’t figured out exactly WHAT she means to him.

Looking forward to what the next episode brings…will continue to monitor.
