Filthy Casual for Life

For day 2 in Tokyo, we plan on hitting up Asakusa and Ueno. We’ll start the day bright and early with a trip to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery. I’ve always wanted to go here, especially during sakura season.

Mipig Cafe Meguro. Casey and I wanted to go to at least one animal cafe. I know how controversial they are, but we decided we still want to go. So, we’re going to a mini-pig cafe!

Tokyo Skytree. I’ve been looking forward to Skytree. I hear there are a lot of good shops and food around Skytree. I am also looking forward to the view! We won’t be going at night, unfortunately. I couldn’t make the itinerary work.

Asakusa Kagetsudo Melon Bread. This bakery is known for their melonpan. What is melonpan? It is described as a brioche-like inside covered in sugar cookie dough. Then they hatch the top to make it look like a melon. The one in the picture is stuffed with cream. I can’t wait!

Nakamise Shopping Street. What is better than some awesome shopping? This street connects to the main gate of Sensoji Temple.

Sensoji Temple. This will be the first temple I have ever visited so I am pretty nervous. I don’t want to be disrespectful. I’ve read and read and read about temples, but I will probably still screw up the praying. I am hopefully going to be able to pick up a goshuin stamp.

Sanrio GIft Gate Asakusa. There is a Sanrio store nearby, so I obviously have to go. I’m sure they have special merch. Gotta get that merch!

Ueno Park. One of the most iconic parks in Tokyo. We plan to walk and get some great cherry blossom pictures.

Tokyo Tower. Another touristy place, but I really want to go. We should get there around sunset. Hopefully, we get some great pictures!

Day two is going to be a lot of fun! I really am looking forward to Skytree. I know it is touristy. I don’t know why people are so down on touristy things. Regardless, I am looking forward to it.
