Let’s Talk Anime

This season was jammed packed with some really good anime. Unfortunately, I fell terribly behind. In part, I blame Funimation. Most of the shows that I wanted to watch this season are on Funimation. Typically, I watch through the Funimation app on my television. Unfortunately, they have this issue with their subtitles showing up in the wrong language. You select English subtitles and get spanish instead. We’ve tried all of the tricks we could find to “fix” it and all have failed. It’s been frustrating. The other half of the blame goes to me. I’ve been too busy/lazy to stream it on my computer. I enjoy watching it with my husband on our television, so it isn’t ALL Funimation’s fault.

Currently, I am behind on pretty much everything in Funimation and that is why anime content has been lacking.

I have been keeping up with Dr. Stone and let me tell you that season two does not disappoint. If you’ve been on the fence with catching season two, you will not be disappointed. There have been some twists and turns that left me feeling pretty satisfied with where they’ve taken the show.

Another show that I’ve been able to keep up with is Jobless Reincarnation. If you recall, this is the isekai I raved about in a previous post. This show has also provided a steady season. While, yes, the lewdness can be a bit much, the show is endearing and has a story that flows. If you’re on the fence with this one, I have also been very satisfied with this show.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is baller. Simply baller. It’s been jam-packed with action, drama, suspense, and revenge. It really doesn’t get any better than that. If Slime has not been on your list, put it there!

A show that I could have kept up with and just lost interest in it is Skate-Leading Stars. This show fell VERY short for me. I tried to hang in there, but the story really goes nowhere. It’s been slow to build and they fixate on rivalry so much that there really isn’t progression as far as the skating goes. It isn’t well-balanced in my opinion. I think it will be hard for another ice skating show to meet or exceed Yuri on Ice.

There are a couple of shows that I plan on doing some stand-alone content on, so be on the lookout for that! As always, thanks for stopping by my little part of the interweb.

  • Wow, you’re having that problem too, with the Spanish subtitles from Funimation on the TV? I thought something had gone wrong with either my TV or my Funimation account. . .perhaps this is some sort of inside joke for them?
