SYNOPSIS: Amakawa Haruto is a young man who died before reuniting with his childhood friend. He arrives in a world where he parents were killed leaving him living in the slums. Rio’s life takes a drastic turn when saves a noble from a terrible fate. He rises from the slums to the Royal Academy where he begins to flourish.

I am actually sitting on the fence with this one. I’m two episodes in and I am building more interest in it than I had through the first episode.
We are introduced to our main character, Rio. In his previous life, he was Amakawa Haruto. Having to move after his parents divorced, he swears to his childhood sweetheart that he will be with her forever. Except, forever never comes when he dies in an accident a few years later.
In this new world, Rio is living as a slave in the slums. His parents were killed and he has been struggling to stay alive. He had no memories of his former self until the day his handlers bring in a large sack. It seems his memories as Haruto begin merging with the memories of Rio.
They quickly insult him and tell him to go wash up because he stinks. While he was out cleaning himself up, Rio is approached by a group of noblewomen inquiring about a young lady. He tells the truth, but is met with prejudice and skepticism. Realizing that they wouldn’t make it in the slums looking like nobles, the noblewomen go to change. While they were changing, Rio had a suspicion that the bag his handlers brought in might be this girl. He saves the girl and returns her to the people looking for her. Unfortunately, their prejudice only leads to Rio getting chained up and beaten.
He is rescued from the jailer and brought to the king. As a reward, he is allowed to attend the Royal Academy and gain an education. Unfortunately, it is very sad. Obviously, he was met with prejudice making no friends. Instead, knowing his place as he put it, studied hard to take advantage of the situation. Involved in martial arts (forgive me, I forget which one) in his former life, gave him quite the advantage in combat. Heavily pursued by the knights, Rio is granted a spot in a tournament. In a turn of events, he is matched with the jailer that beat him as a child.
As previously stated, I am on the fence with this one. Nothing in particular stood out to me. Nothing in particular makes me not want to watch it. I think I will give it a few more episodes before deciding whether I am enjoying it.
