Everyday Life: March

Hello, everyone!

I hope that life has been treating you kindly. I thought I’d give a little update. Last you read, my work office was struck by lightning and started a fire. The building didn’t burn down, but it flooded from the fire suppression system. The firm was able to find a temporary space to get business flowing again. I have been working from home. The firm just moved into a more permanent space. Well, more permanent for the 12-18 months it is going to take to rebuild the building. During that time, I will work two days in the office and three days remotely. I am looking forward to it. I do not mind working from home. I actually prefer it. I like the comfort of my home. I have the best co-workers as well.

Speaking of co-workers, I would like to introduce our new puppy. Meet Rikka. If you know the anime Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions, you’ll know where the name comes from. After all, Rikka has a little eye patch just like her namesake.

Rikka is a borsky (border collie/husky mix). She is absolutely adorable, but also a pain in my rear! But, in a good way. After the passing of Nibbler, there was a hole in our hearts. My husband went to work one day and a co-worker had a litter of puppies they were giving away. My husband immediately fell in love with this little lady. When I saw her picture, I fell in love with her, too. We had to wait a week and a half before she was ready. She’s currently seven weeks old. I know how a lot of people are against purchasing pets. I want to go on record that we did not purchase Rikka. We adopted her. I don’t know why I feel like I have to explain myself, but there you have it.

School is coming to an end. I have four more weeks before graduation. I cannot tell you how excited I am to finally be finished. I am more excited about the cruise to Alaska to celebrate my graduation. I’ve needed a REAL vacation for a long time. I’ve never been on a cruise, so it will be a whole new experience for me. The plan is to take a lot of videos and pictures. Then, I hope to turn it all into a video I can put up on YouTube to share with friends and family, and of course, you!
