In February, it will be my fifth year writing this blog. FIVE years. Time has flown. A lot happened this year.

In May, I embarked on my first cruise. I was nervous because I did not know if I would suffer from seasickness. Luckily, that did not come to fruition and I was fine. Casey won $350 at Deal or No Deal, some money to use at the casino, and a trip to one of the nicest restaurants on board. If you want to check out my experience in detail, you can click here.

Also, I graduated from Texas A&M University – Central Texas in May. I am proud that I finally could go back and finish my bachelor’s degree. Not only did I complete the degree, but I graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. I majored in liberal studies with minors in English, fine arts, and business management. You might wonder why such my degree is all over the place. I wanted something to complement my career. I was not looking to change careers, but to have a degree that supported what I am already doing.

We also adopted a new dog, Rikka. She’s an American bully/Siberian husky mix. She’s a beautiful dog with a lot of personality. She’s like a bull in a china shop. She has no grace whatsoever. She is 100% a daddy’s girl paying me no attention whatsoever. You can follow her on Insta: @rikkabutterbean

It wasn’t all highs. I had some health problems that interfered with my blogging. Recently, I had a cyst on my chest removed. It ended up getting infected. The infection, allegedly, caused a bout of pneumonia. Getting older sucks.

As for this blog, as previously mentioned, my fifth anniversary is coming up. I can’t believe it has been five years. I never check out my stats because they are not important to me. It’s nice to know you have readers and that your blog is getting hits, but I do this because it is a nice escape for me. It’s fun and if I try to focus on growing the blog or the numbers, I know, for me, it would become a job. But, for funsies, here are my top posts of the year:

  1. Beef Stroganoff – Magnolia Table, Volume 2
  2. Honey Garlic Chicken: Magnolia Table, Volume 2
  3. Pioneer Woman’s Chicken Marsala
  4. Chicken Pot Pie: Magnolia Table, Volume 2
  5. Anime: Ooku: The Inner Chamber Ep. 2
  6. Anime: More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers
  7. Ooku: The Inner Chambers, Ep. 5
  8. Anime: I’m Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness, Ep. 1
  9. Anime: Ooku: The Inner Chambers, Ep. 4
  10. Anime: Ooku: The Inner Chambers, Ep. 7

I am not surprised the food content is the most viewed for obvious reasons. They are recipes from two well-known celebrities. I was shocked that Ooku was the most-viewed anime post.

I do want to continue to put food content out. The problem is I forget when I try a new recipe. I get too darn excited and don’t take pictures. Food posts NEED pictures. I also want to do more board game content. I have a ton of board games that I need to review and haven’t had the chance. I have a lot that I want to do. I just need to do it. Content is not lacking. Just time.

Anyhow, if you made it this far, thank you. I appreciate your time. I know how precious it is. Let’s hope for another positive year.
