I don’t claim to be much of an artist, but I do like to sketch. I’ve been struggling with mental health issues lately. One of my medications makes me super, super sleepy and it has been affecting my daily operations. We took me off that medication, but now, I am wide awake at night. Medication management is a big part of my life. I go back in three weeks and I’m sure we’ll adjust it again.
In the meantime, sketching has always helped me cope. Again, not great at it, but there is something about creating an image with nothing more than a piece of paper and a pencil. I need a lot more work. Especially on the marker work. I get so impatient that I don’t really think about making the strokes as seamless as possible. Part of the issue is the paper I use. I’m too cheap to buy the good stuff, especially with my level of skill.
I can report that Ohuhu markers are a great alternative to Copic markers. Copic markers are far superior, but if you’re like me (complete amateur), it is a great cost savings. I’m not looking to sell art or even hang it up, so it is definitely good enough for my purposes. The markers blend pretty well. My problem is I don’t have enough experience blending, so my blending is a bit harsh. All things I can definitely work on!
Here are this week’s sketches.
