EPISODE 7: A LULLABY LIKE THE BEAT OF A HEART

Prince Arnold receives a letter and looks angry. Rishe knocks on the door to Prince Arnold’s office. Sensing her nervousness, he asks her what’s on her mind. She takes a deep breath and asks Prince Arnold to move into the villa. Prince Arnold tells Rishe that he thought she intended to live there alone. She immediately retorts that she wishes to live in the villa with Prince Arnold. He smiles and tells Rishe he senses she is plotting something. Prince Arnold’s mood has drastically changed from the anger sensed before her appearance. They make their way to the villa.

The Prince’s room is in immaculate condition. He is truly amazed at how much Rishe and her maids have improved the rundown villa. He assumes his room is next to Rishe’s and he is right. She tells him it is to make it easier for the guards. Rishe then asks Prince Arnold if he remembers a prior conversation where he promised to spar with her. Prince Arnold agrees. Rishe gushes that he has the most beautiful swordsmanship in the world.

The Prince and Rishe meet at the training grounds. Rishe’s arm is restrained behind her back while Prince Arnold wears an eyepatch and both an arm and leg restraint.

Rishe offers up a bet. If she wins, he has to answer any question she asks. If he wins, she will do anything he asks. When the battle begins, Rishe realizes that her body is moving as if she had two arms. She quickly makes an adjustment. As she advances, Prince Arnold quickly gives her feedback. She is amazed by his skill. However, the guards are also impressed with Rishe.

Prince Arnold begins to execute the move that killed Rishe in her past life. Using that knowledge, she is able to dodge his attack. Arnold suspects that Rishe is thinking about a better swordsman as she fights him. She immediately retorts that Prince Arnold is the strongest swordsman she has ever met. He tells her to advance once more, but her body is beginning to give out on her. She advances and Prince Arnold is able to remove the sword from her hand. Prince Arnold confirms their deal. She will do one thing he wants. He asks her to clear her schedule two days from now. He tells her they’re going into town. Prince Arnold beckons Rishe to leave with him. With embarrassment, she tells him she will remain there for now.

She has depleted her entire strength. She admits to Arnold that her arms and legs are shaking and that she needs to rest. Quickly, Arnold swoops Rishe into his arms and carries her. Rishe objects, but Prince Arnold ignores her pleas. He asks Rishe what her question was going to be. She asks him when his birthday is. Then, she takes the liberty of spewing off more questions than she originally asked for.

The next day, they are moving Arnold’s things into the villa. Rishe learns that Arnold has yet to sleep. She immediately goes to his office and implores that he take a nap. He shares that he can’t sleep during the day because he can feel the presence of people in the palace. She offers to lull him to sleep.

Rishe draws the curtains in his villa room. She sits by his side and tells him to rest. When they realize it isn’t working, she asks to lay by his side. She softly pats on his chest emulating a heartbeat. It’s a trick she learned in her previous life. She suddenly stops and focuses on his scars. He tells her that she can do what she likes. She begins to stroke the scars and he immediately grabs her hand and tells her stop. He jokes that if he had gloves, he would counter-strike. He lies down again. Feeling she was unfair to touch him, she bares her neck and offers it to him to touch. He pushes a pillow in her face and flirts with her.

The Prince asks her to stay with him until he falls asleep. Instead, Rishe ends up falling asleep and the Prince watches her. Rishe returns to her room to a package from the Aria Trading Company. Inside the chest was a wig and Rishe thinking she is going to be very busy in the future. The next day, Rishe has entered knight training.

THOUGHTS

Oh, Rishe! She is such a handful and so unaware. Time and time again, she puts herself in possible precarious situations with the Prince. This time, she enters his room alone and lays in his bed. Does she have no shame?! HA! I am not surprised she entered knight training. After all, she wants to be his equal. I’m kind of glad that the Aria Trading Company is not a main part of the story at the moment. They really dragged that out. I am hoping her business venture is going smoothly, but at the same time, I could really care less. I am hoping for some more romantic content. So far, it has been heavy on how amazing Rishe is from her past life knowledge. I would like to see the romance build a little more.
