It was March 2023. We had a late night storm roll through. Our less-than-one-year-old office building was struck by lightning. The lightning caused a fire. The fire suppression system did its job…the entire night. When our office manager arrived, there was 2-3 inches of standing water. The building was totaled. We should be able to move back in late July.

It is May 2024. We are currently renting a temporary office space while we await the completion of the renovations at our prior location. We had a storm roll through. The skylight in the main part of the building collapsed. The office manager arrived to water-soaked carpets and water damage throughout.

Are we cursed?!!

  1. Yikes, living in ‘stormier parts’ of the us and world is not for the faint at heart. I lived in north tx for 3 years and the weather was pretty insane. The town of Wylee was about 11 miles from us in 2016 they got softball size hail twice. Basically every window on everything was shattered twice. 🙄

    1. We had hail not too long ago. Might have been last week. My co-worker’s car got hammered pretty bad. Gotta love this Texas weather!

      1. I did even with my very close brush with three tornadoes 🌪️ when I lived there (2014 – 2017)

  2. Yikes! That’s pretty terrible on both accounts, but I think it’s just bad luck or the universe telling you guys you needed a fresh new start with a renovation. Look at it this way, with every end there is a new beginning. I think this will be good for your office 🙂
