I grew up in San Antonio, Texas. My neighbor/best friend Norma would give these to me every once in awhile. When I moved away from San Antonio in fifth grade, I never saw them again, and I never thought to look for them. Then, one day, at my local grocery store, I saw the box of them and instantly grabbed them. With one bite, I was transported to my childhood and the special bond I had with Norma.

    Oo, I’ve never seen those candies before, but they look good! Hmm, what food makes me nostalgic? I think, my grandma’s scones, they were delicious! My mom’s peanut butter, jelly, and bacon sandwiches. Yeah, when I think about food of my childhood, I always think of home cooking and recipes that have been in the family for generations.
