First impressions are so flawed in my opinion. It’s judging a book by its cover and I am generally against that. After all, how can you really sum up a person by the first impression they generate. Yet, we do. We rely on first impressions in interviews and social meetings. Sometimes those impressions are spot on and sometimes they’re not.
So, what first impression do I want to give people?
Confidence. I understand the importance of “first impressions” place in society. Therefore, I do my best to manipulate…yes, manipulate…my first impression to convey confidence. I am the least confident person in the world. Despite my many successes over the years, I have no confidence in myself or of my abilities. Confidence can get you far in life. Sometimes, you have to fake it until you make it.
