Daily writing prompt
Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.

The obvious answer is my son, Arilian. I never wanted children, but the Gods had other plans for me. However, I am sure this question is seeking a less profound answer.

The best gift I ever received? That is a very hard question when considering the lifetime of excellent gifts I have received. So, in typical Chibichonk fashion, here are my top three.

Number Three: Coach Purse

Coming in at number three is the first “retail” Coach purse I ever bought for myself. Yes, it was a gift from me to me! I normally get my purses from outlets or on clearance, but this was a new retail release which meant it cost a pretty penny. I fell in love with her and had the funds to make it happen.

Number Two: Texas Stars Season Tickets

I’m not sure this qualifies as a gift, but we won Texas Stars Season Tickets when they were just starting out. We’ve since released the season tickets after a few seasons, but we still make the venture out to Cedar Park to watch the Stars every once in a while.

Our season tickets, season ticketholder jackets and season ticket parking. Woot Woot!

Number 1: Permission to Dance BTS Tickets

Another gift to myself. BTS concert tickets. When I heard BTS was doing three limited performances in LA, I HAD to go. I knew they were starting military service within the year and the chance for me to see them live wouldn’t come for a minimum of two years, if at all. It was the absolute best gift I could have ever given myself.

  1. Oh, those sound like very fun gifts! Yeeeeessss, the Coach purse! I collect purses, and I would love that gift too! Hmm, for me I think the best gift I ever got was nothing physical. It was my 16th birthday, and my oldest brother called me. He’s 16 years older than me, so I see him as more like an uncle than an older brother. He wished me happy birthday, then asked me if I planned to go to college in the near future. I said no, because I wasn’t smart enough to go to college. He laughed and told me that, “The dumbest people I ever met, I met in college. Don’t worry about it. You’re more than smart enough to go to any university.” Just hearing that made me feel so good! The next year I went on to apply to a local university, and I ended up getting better grades then I ever did during high school or middle school. I met so many wonderful people in my university, and learned so much about the world. I really had a great time there. And it was all thanks to what my big brother said to me that I even tried. So, the best gift I ever got was life advise.
