It’s been awhile since we’ve purchased some board games. To be honest, our collection is getting a tad bit out of hand LOL. We are quickly running out of room to store it all.

That didn’t stop us from going to Dragon’s Lair and picking up a few games. One of the games we picked up is the cutely named Kitty Litter.

Look at the packaging! They have a genius marketing person. I saw the little kitty litter bucket and immediately grabbed it. Here are the basics:

THE BASICS

Number of players: Two (2) to Four (4) platers
Suggested age: 6 years and older
Average game play: 5-10 minutes a game
Average price: $15.99 at our local game shop

GAMEPLAY

Gameplay is SUPER SUPER simple. It’s a color match game. The game is made up of cute tiles. The tiles are shuffled and each player gets 14 tiles that go face down in front of the player.

Four cards are randomly drawn and placed into a square. The players flip their first card simultaneously and start trying to match 2 or 3 of the colored tiles. The game is played by all players at the same time. The goal is to get rid of your tiles the fastest.

There are some rules. If you match three colors, you call “Cat Scratch” and then give one of your tiles to any player. If you place a mismatched tile, you have to take it back. The person that identifies the mistake gets to give you one of their own tiles. If you can’t seem to find a match, it’s no big deal. Just place that tile at the bottom of your stack and draw a new tile from your hand.

The player that gets ride of their hand the fastest wins.

That’s pretty much it! Gameplay is quick with each match lasting 5-10 minutes.

THOUGHTS

I loved this game. It’s more for children, but that didn’t stop my enjoyment. Sometimes, you need a basic game with basic rules. It’s going to be a good cruise game for us in February.
