We all have that one thing that we know we could do without, but purchase anyhow. Whether it’s a hobby or something more practical, we ALL splurge on something.

Pet Waste Removal – I CHOOSE YOU!

That’s right. We pay for a company to come out to our house once a week and clean up after our dogs. It’s the best $20/week a person with dogs could spend. They come out, seek out all the poop, and take care of it, because honestly, we weren’t. It was the first summer I wasn’t afraid to go out in the yard. Our yard is mostly dirt due to the dogs, so the remaining grass gets bombarded with dog poop. I absolutely consider this a necessary splurge. Could we do it ourselves? Yes. Do I want to do it myself? No.

What thing/service do you splurge on? Tell me in the comments below!

  1. If it’s worth it to you and saves you time, I’d say it’s totally necessary 😉 We pay a teen from the neighborhood to mow the lawn and rake leaves. He even made his own business cards (hand written, super cute! 😄).

  2. $1040 per year for one customer. Depending on how many customers they have, poop scooping sounds lucrative.

I splurge on books. I try to check the library first or the Internet archive, but about half the time I can’t find the book I really want to read for free, so I splurge and buy one along with a coffee. I only do that about once a month, but I make a whole afternoon of it.
