I can’t believe I am saying this. After years of setbacks, we’re almost within the one year window. Tonight, the husband and I narrowed down the date of departure to Thursday, March 25, 2027. We’ve reviewed our budget and we’re on track. It seems so surreal.

With that said, we have started planning in earnest. Within the next few months, our hotel and flights will open up for booking. Because we’re planning on visiting during cherry blossom season, we have to book early.

Hotel. We decided that we will be booking a room at the Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu.

It’s in the heart of Shibuya. The limousine bus from Haneda Airport drops off directly at the hotel meaning we don’t have to mess with trains and luggage. I have found many blogs with reviews of this particular hotel, and I am confident that it will be a good match for me and my husband. The Shibuya Scramble is so iconic. I will never tire of seeing it every day that I am there.

Food. There are so many places that we want to try, so we’ve been placing them on our itinerary. Today, I am going to highlight FLIPPER’S.

Flipper’s is known for their soufflé pancakes. There is no way I am going to Japan and not indulging. Pictured above are their apple cinnamon pancakes. I cannot wait to try them. They even had a My Melody/Cinnamoroll collaboration a while back. I am hoping that when we go, there will be some kind of special collaboration going on.

I’ll keep you all updated on the planning progress!

  1. Wow, this sounds awesome! Going during the cherry blossom season is going to be so pretty! I hope you remember to check out some of the parks and gardens to get the full Hanami experience! March seems to be a great time to travel. This March I’m headed to Ireland with some family members. We’ll check out Dublin then Limerick (where my family is from) we might also putter down to Cork depending on weather and how we are feeling. Itinerary? None! We tend to do things loosey goosey, and do things that look good while we are there. This will be my third time to Europe, first time to Ireland.
