Coldplay’s Fix You is a very beautiful song and a lot of people were shocked when BTS was given permission to perform the song. After all, Coldplay is very selective and doesn’t give permission to hardly anyone.
The song is about overcoming grief and unconditional love in times of grief.
I lost someone dear to me when I was 17. Ironically, the person I lost would have sung me this song. When I hear this song, I think about what my life would have been like had he not died. He was four years older than me and we…No, I. I spent so much fighting how I felt. I wasted so much time dating people my own age while he waited. Always there when I cried. Comforted me at every break up. Brought me soup and jello when I was sick. Patiently waiting for the day I finally came around. When I did, we had almost a year together. And, then. He was gone. I think what hurts the most is hearing this song knowing that if I lost someone, he would sit me down next to his piano and sing this for me.
I know that life leads you to where you were meant to be. Life places all sorts of obstacles in your way. All that suffering led me to Casey. When the cracks start appearing, he knows how to fix me. Sometimes, I wonder if Casey is Aleksei. I know that it is impossible, but every once in awhile, I feel like Aleksei is guiding Casey. Casey shows his love in acts of service and that was Aleksei, too. Casey does the laundry every week. Runs the dishwasher every morning. Puts up with my OCD and need to do things in a special order. He takes care of the pets. Does the cooking during the week so I walk into dinner waiting and anime queued up. He puts on Aliens for me to watch before going upstairs to bed. In other words, I am 100% spoiled.
Anyhow, listen to BTS kill this song. They have the voices of angels! No lyrics needed for this song. The song is in English.
