Episode 3: Decision
Reiya’s secretary, Takamichi, is a talented attorney. He has drawn up the adoption papers for Yuzu’s grandparents to adopt her. Tachimichi, Reiya, and Yuzu arrive at her parent’s house.
There, they find Yuzu’s grandparents and parents arguing about Yuzu. Her grandparents are upset that they have neglected Yuzu. Her parents defend themselves and say they have every right to to prioritize Karin. Karin and the parents immediately blame Yuzu for hitting Karin and act like Karin was the victim and did nothing to provoke the hit at all. When Yuzu arrives, Takamichi and Reiya stay in the hallway unseen. Yuzu enters the room and her parents instruct her to immediately apologize to Karin. Karin calls Yuzu and attention whore and her fiance even starts to tell her how dare she treat her that way , but as the words come out of his mouth, Reiya enters and says, “How dare you treat my bride that way?”

The look on Youta’s face says it all. He knows who Reiya is and he knows he is screwed.
When Reiya tells Takamichi to start the process, the parents get upset. They ask Yuzu what she thinks. When she honestly replies she can’t be happy in that household anymore, the father begins to approach to hit her, but he is stopped by Reiya.

Yuzu realizes they always put the blame on her. She is beginning to realize how much they don’t love her. How impossible the situation is. As she begins to cry, he lesser ogres covers her ears trying to remind her that she doesn’t need to listen to them anymore. Reiya tells them to sign the papers already.
Karin gets mouthy and talks back to Reiya. She touts the fact that she’s going to marry a fox demon. She tells Reiya that Yuzu must have told him lies. Youta gets uncomfortable and asks Reita again why Reita is there. Reita reemphasizes that Yuzu is his bride. When Youta tells Reita that Yuza can’t possibly be his bride, Reita simply says, “Taste Yuzu’s pain” and burns him.

The adoption process is complete. Reiya tells Yuzu to grab only what’s necessary. As Yuzu and her grandma is packing, Yuzu apologizes to her Grandma and tells her that she’s sorry. Reita’s demon powers scared her. Her Grandma tells her he was angry on her behalf and that was okay.
Yuzu returns from her room and asks if Youta will be okay to which Reiya replies that he was only hit with a fraction of his power and as a demon, he will recover shortly. As Yuzu, Reiya, and Takamichi are leave, Karin will not leave it be. She stops them and threatens to tell Youta’s family. Reiya tells her to tell the fox clan head that Youta hurt his bride. Angry, Karin asks who he is. He calmly tells her he is the next head of the main Kiryuin family, Kiryuin Reiya.
They realize she is an ogre’s bride. In a last act of respect, Yuzu bows to her family one last time.
After the whole ordeal, they arrive home at Reiya’s compound. She still can’t believe how large it is. It suddenly dawns on her that she’s is going to marry an ogre. Reiya finds her anxiety a bit adorable.

Back at Yuzu’s former home, Youta wakes. Her parents show how tacky they are. Yuzu’s mother begins to ask her husband if there is any way they can get Yuzu back now that she is an ogre’s bride. Karin begins to realize how shallow and fickle her parents are. They even ask for Youta’s help.

Just then, she uses her seductive powers to seduce Youta into helping her get her sister back. Not for her parents, but for her jealousy and pettiness.

THOUGHTS
Yuzu’s family is so despicable. They’re the worst kind of social climbers. They tacky, roach-like kind.
I feel so bad for Yuzu. My heart literally aches for her. She holds out hope that her parents hold one ounce of respect and love for her, alas, they don’t. Even in the end, all they do is blame her for everything. What a toxic family. I am so glad that Reiya found her, even if its a supernatural thing.
Let’s talk Karin. I really do hope she has a whole meal of comeback coming to her. I really, really do. She is plotting something for Yuzu and I hope it blows up in her face like a Fourth of July fireworks show. She deserves nothing less.
Will continue to monitor.
