Episode 7 Recap. Sakurarko visits Yuzu, but not on friendly terms. She lies to Yuzu and tells her not to interfere with Reiya and Tachamichi’s roles as lovers. This plants even more doubt into Yuzu’s mind. Sensing her turmoil, her grandmother convinces Yuzu to open up. It is then that Yuzu realizes she has fallen in love with Reiya and decides to give him the benefit of the doubt. Back at Yuzu’s grandparent’s house, Youta, Karin’s fox demon fiancé, hypnotizes the guards to give Karin access to Yuzu.
Karin, Yuzu’s younger sister, is being eaten with jealousy and rage. She lashes out at Youta, her fox demon fiancé, for not bringing Yuzu home. She pleads with him to bring her home with Reiya is at the demon head clan meeting.
Yuzu is feeling much better now that she knows how she feels about Reiya. The doorbell rings. At the door is Yuzu’s parents. They squirm their way in.
Immediately, Yuzu’s grandparents get upset and remind them they signed the adoption papers. Her parents try to convince Yuzu that they cared about her and that she should come back home. Yuzu has flashbacks of all the times they left her sick with no one to care for her. Summoning her courage, she tells them she was lonely and that they gave all their attention to Karin. She tells them she never felt any love from either of them. Enter Karin. She stabs a knife into the wound and reminds Yuzu of Reiya’s “lover” Tachamichi and how they’re only keeping her around because she’s his bride and that Reiya will never love her.
Yuzu’s faith in Reiya does not waiver and neither does her determination to stay with Reiya. Once again, Yuzu’s father gets violent and begins a struggle with Yuzu. He ends up pushing Yuzu’s grandmother down.
Her father tries to force her to leave, but not before the lesser ogres step in.
Recognizing the power of the lesser ogres, Youta tells Karin they should leave. The noise will dispel the charm. Yuzu is sad that her grandmother got hurt trying to save Yuzu.
Back at the demon clan meeting, Tachamichi tells Reiya that Sakurako met with Yuzu. They both have no idea the seeds that she is sowing. Tachamichi gets a phone call informing him of the security breach at Yuzu’s grandmother’s house. Reiya calls an immediate meeting with the fox clan’s head.
After running away, Youta is summoned to the main house. The Kiryuins are furious. At the meeting, things are precariously played. The fox demon head is second in power to Reiya and must be treated with respect. However, Youta has already been given a second chance when he burned him the first time. The fox demon head doles her punishment:
- Karin and her parent’s financial support will stop.
- Karin will be taken from her parents and kept under watch at the Kogetsu house.
- Should he try to harm Yuzu again, Karin and her family will be exiled.
It isn’t enough for Reiya, but enough to save face for both clans. The fox clan head knows it and wants to see if Reiya plans to bring his bride to the closing ceremonies. Reiya said he had planned to. She announces the Youta brings Karin. Reiya asks what the fox clan head is up to. She simply says she wants to see if Youta can control his bride.
