Hi, friends!
It’s been exactly one week since my return from the Alaskan cruise. It was an amazing experience, and I suggest it to anyone who is on the fence about going. It is a cruise for an older crowd. There were children and families on the cruise, but not too many. There wasn’t a lot of drunkard activity going on. No girls gone wild. It was a nice vacation atmosphere for those not in the summer party crowd. Everyone was friendly. The staff was amazing. I have absolutely no complaints.
We flew from Austin, Texas, to Seattle, Washington. It was our first time flying first class. I will never fly coach/economy again. I am springing the extra cash to fly first-class if I go somewhere. The leg room was worth it. We also got a cute fruit and cheese tray for breakfast.

We took a shuttle from the airport to the cruise terminal when we landed. It was nuts. Out of the whole trip, this was probably the most unorganized part. It was pure chaos. I think we ended up getting on the ship an hour before we were supposed to. Here she is, the Discovery Princess.

After a day at sea, our first stop was Ketchikan, Alaska. It was the cutest little town ever. We even saw a cute lumberjack show.

Our next part of the trip was Juneau, Alaska. We weren’t impressed with Juneau. It could be because we didn’t go on any excursions. The shopping was okay. Not as good as Ketchikan. It could be because Juneau doesn’t highly depend on cruise income like a small town. Regardless, it was still beautiful.

Our journey continued to Skagway, Alaska. Since we had a full day at Skagway, we took two excursions. First, we took a train ride and then we took a bus ride. The views were amazing.

The highlight of the cruise was my husband participating in the Deal or No Deal game show. In order to participate, you had to purchase these pull-tab cards. We were originally not going to participate and just watch the show. My husband quickly decided that he wanted to go ahead and see how much the cards were. He returned with three for $50. We were excited. He was the first of two contestants chosen! There were a lot of technical difficulties while he was on stage. When he picked his case, they revealed it instead of locking it in. Due to their mistake, they guaranteed him the $350 in his case and allowed him to play to the end. It was a great time.

Our final destination was Victoria, British Columbia. It was a beautiful city, except for the fact that the non-tourist shops all closed at 4 p.m. when we arrived at 7 p.m. There were plenty of tourist traps open, though. I will never get used to full sunlight at 7 p.m. at night.

That was the end of our cruise. I enjoyed every minute of it. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. I also created a YouTube video if you want to take a gander at that! Thanks, friends!
