Gameplay
Gameplay is super simple. There is one goal. To complete five (5) drink sets. Each drink set will contain tea, a flavoring, and a topping. Don’t worry. There are menu cards to tell you which combination of flavorings and toppings completes a drink. Each player will start with five (5) cards in their hand. There are two main phases. First is the draw phase. You will draw two (2) cards at the beginning of your turn. The second is the action phase. You can play up to three (3) cards. You don’t have to take all three (3) turns, and you may even opt to skip your turn. During the action phase, you can build your drink sets, play action cards, play cards that protect your drink sets, or sabotage other players. You can have up to seven (7) potential and completed drink sets on the table at any time. At the end of your turn, discard until you have only seven (7) cards in your hand.

My Thoughts

I loved Sabobatage. It is a super quick game that fits into family or game nights with your friends. That being said, it may be too simple for many of you. While it was fun with two (2) players, I think this game is better suited for a higher number of players. Again, this game is perfect for a game-night starter before you delve into more complicated games. If you have a friend that takes some time to grasp games, this is a perfect game for that. It is also great for younger children. The artwork is very cute. I purchased a version that included the base game, the expansion, and four players’ mats. The players’ mats are neoprene and make the game more organized. As you can see in the picture above, it kept the seven (7) sets of cards organized. Do you need the players’ mats? No. You will have a good experience without them. I enjoyed the game a lot and highly recommend it.
