I had a long internal debate on which anime would qualify as my favorite. It came down to two. Demon Slayer and Yuri on Ice. While I have a special place for Yuri in my heart, my heart beats stronger for Tanjiro and crew.

What exactly does loving Demon Slayer say about me?

I love demons. It’s a theme with me. I love demons. My favorite character for the longest time was the demon Sebastian from Black Butler. Then, I watched the first season of Demon Slayer and immediately fell in love with Muzan.

Those eyes. Those red, sexy eyes.

And now, after watching Infinity Castle, I am now in love with Doma. He’s a complete sociopath and I am here for it. His rainbow eyes. His bubbly personality. His charisma. His sheer power.

I have a soft spot for a wholesome protagonists. It’s true. I have a soft spot for the wholesome protagonist, too. Tanjiro is too wholesome for words. I love how he loves with his whole heart. I also love that he shows vulnerability often crying when he hits a wall. But, he doesn’t let that stop him. He puts in more work and effort to grow stronger. His tenacity is admirable.

I’m a sucker for badassery. Let’s be honest. Everyone in Demon Slayer has some level of badassery and that makes me happy. High action. High drama. I love it all. Most of all, I love low-key badassery. That’s why Zenitsu is my favorite. He’s annoying. He’s a crybaby. He’s a chickenshit. But, when it comes time to perform, he’s a complete badass.

What else does loving Demon Slayer say about me?

I think it says that I tend to stick to mainstream, which is very much the truth. I’m not one to seek out those hidden gems. It also says that I enjoy character development. Demon Slayer really focuses on the development of each of the protagonists of the series.

What about you? What does your favorite anime say about you?
