Do you have an irrational fear? I have a few.

Cruise ship sinking. I go on cruises quite a bit. I still have the fear that the cruise ship is going to sink and that there isn’t going to be time to evacuate and/or enough life boats. I know that they are well equipped and well prepared for the worst, but it is still a fear of mine.

Zombies in my backyard. I have sliding glass doors in my kitchen with sheer white curtains. When it is nighttime, I have the irrational fear that I am going to look outside when I pass by and see shuffling zombies outside in my backyard. I know. Stupid.

Monsters under my bed. Yes, I still think something is going to grab my ankle from underneath my bed.

My best friend will just disappear. He has technically just up and disappeared on me before I considered him my best friend so the fear is based in legitimacy, but to be honest, he has never given me a reason to believe he would do it now.

What about you? Do you have irrational fears? What are they?

  1. I’m terrified of escalators. I will not ride them! It’s basically a churning staircase with metal teeth! Who invented such a thing? How could it possibly pass any safety inspection?! And yes I understand that millions of people ride escalators across the globe everyday, and very few people get eaten, but . . . Did you see those teeth! On stairs! Seriously, escalators are the stuff of nightmares.

    1. Legit fear. I’ve seen some stuff on YouTube. Probably AI, but still. They can be terrifying!
